Tell Scotland, LGBT Scots Need Equal Protection Under the Law!

Despite recent advances such as the legalization of same-sex marriage, LGBT individuals still face considerable social and employment disadvantages in Scotland. Children and teens are bullied in school, and teachers are helpless to stop it because they lack training in how to intervene. One teen told the Scottish Herald that she was called a "lesbo" and "dyke."

An in-depth report which surveyed LGBT community members reveals that 25% of those surveyed believe they have been discriminated against at their jobs and while attempting to access public services. The same people reported being physically attacked, sexually assaulted, and having their property vandalized.

Please join me in demanding that the Scottish parliament take action to remedy this situation immediately. Parliament should pass laws should prohibit discrimination in the application of existing laws and the provision of public and private services.
