Locals have been using the La Jolla High School Tennis Courts since 1969. La Jolla High School's boys varsity tennis coach, Matt Prevedi, sent a text out to several local tennis players on May 14, 2015 saying " Gentlemen - just a courtesy heads up - they are planning on locking LJHS courts starting the day after graduation for the entire summer due to construction. I wanted to give you guys the heads up so as not to be blindsided. Feel free to pass this info along as I want to give as many people a heads up as possible. Thanks." Matt Prevedi
The courts have been locked ever since, but Matt Prevedi has a key to the locks and has used the courts all summer to conduct group and private tennis lessons which he charges and collects money. He has used the tennis courts not only during the week, but on the weekends. He also has access to the lights which he has used on several weekend nights. He also rents out the courts and collects money from other private tennis coaches. We simply want the community of La Jolla to have continued access to the La Jolla High Tennis Courts. I have made several attempts to contact La Jolla High School 858-454-3081 and Matt Prevedi regarding this issue with no response...
