Although we all love the idea of a 'Monster', the plain truth is that Mr. Charles Manson was brought up on Murder and other charges in 1969. He has been held in Solitary Confinement; Which Costs Taxpayers on average $75,000 per person, per year! We are wasting Tax Dollars and denying Medical Care! He did not physically participate in these crimes. We are wasting money.To observe Mr. Manson, you will see that his disadvantaged upbringing,and other factors have left him mentally damaged. On top of this, he was under the influence of Psychidelic Drugs- Which compounds Mental Illness. By 1966 he spent most of his life behind bars. Mr. Manson reached out for help; Admitting his mind was being mutilated by incarceration. At 27, he had the mental capacity of a 4th grader. He was self-taught. Sadly,and as one does when they are not fromally educated; he demonstrated sociopath behaviors. One time it was noted when he was jailed, and scheduled to be released;he asked to stay in an institutuion. He feared for his future.He was afraid he didn't know how to cope in society. He was institutuinalized. He was released into a Drug Infused society,homeless and uneducated. He sought to recreate the family that he had never had. Mainly, young people who lacked the same familial structure, and those seeking a purpose in life gravitated towards Charles. The consented use of mind altering drugs and the crimes committed by third parties; although shocking, does not necessitate that we continue to treat Charles Manson as a 'Monster;. During the 1960's in America, Mental Health services were not readily competant. The United States has not recognized his obvious Mental Illness; i.e. Dillusions of Grandiose and other indicators that he is not Mentally Fit to be put through a Legal Process. He should no longer be in a Penal Institution at his advanced age. At his advanced age, here in 2013; Charles Manson is nearly 80 years old, he is not a threat to society. He needs to be evaluated, and brought to a facility where he can be physically safe, and where he can get the services that he needs. Look beyond the hype. See the reality.
