Keep our Mildura street art project going!

Please sign this petition for Alessandro Gandolfo, the artist who has been commissioned by the Dante Alighieri Society of Mildura and the Mildura Arts Centre through the Mildura Rural City Council to complete the art projects that were started in November 2015. Alessandro's one year visa is expiring and he needs to extend it by six months to complete the work he has begun.
Unfortunately, the Immigration Department has rejected his extension application and we would like to plead to the department to allow him to stay this extra time to complete this amazing work for the Mildura District.
Alessandro has completed the art murals for the Mildura Art Centre depicting the history of Mildura. It still needs to be attached to the Mildura Art Centre Wall. He has also completed a work at the corner of Eighth Street and Shilliday's Lane. this work depicts the diverse cultures in Mildura. Also a mural that is supported by restaurant owners of Mildura needs to be completed. This mural is about all of the current societies and communities in Mildura. It is to go on the building facing the Grand Hotel car park. Another project that needs to be completed is in Nowingi Place, this one will depict the new immigrants arriving in Mildura currently and the skills and work that they do in this area. Finally, he will be completing a work for the Dante Alighieri Society of Mildura depicting Dante telling his story of "Inferno" and "Paradiso" with a modern and Australian twist, adapting it to the reality of living in Australia.
The Mildura community has been greatly appreciative of Alessandro's dedication and generosity of his time to work on these projects for the Mildura community. He wants to do this for the Mildura community because he has felt very welcomed and wants to leave a gift behind for this warm and welcoming community of Mildura.
If you look at these projects so far, you will see that our city has been beautified and will no doubt make Mildura a talking point because of these amazing murals around our city.
