Paint Paint ?! Art & Various Dees (City Of Ottawa Canada.)

Ekk ....Our Fire Hydrants ..... Good Lord.!!!

The city has been having management problems in the city this year concerning the upkeep of all of its fire hydrants. They have not been painted yearly and look like they have diahrea all over them. Do you really want to see the pic..ewww.

They do yearly collect paint donations from the residents & recycle and keep the money.A most recent article in the Metro paper shows and demonstates they are racking it in $ wise for parking tickets(except the Quebec Tickets...Hmmm).
.
So after many complaints they managed to only paint a minute amount (oh- painting them only yellow-I guess --as the workers are now not painting the ends blue as they are suppose to).

Could we have sidewalk quality cement for sidewalk quality and curb repairs instead of ugly black ,poorly mixed, street cement.

A whipper spipper service on all roads is a must as we are starting to beome jungle like with all our streets.Environmental i guess -but of course they cause raod damage.!!

I would like the city to do so(paint) befor the snow flies this year as they( fire hydrants) are rusting and may cost the tax payers more money to replace. This would require a change in their work timelines permanently also to extend street repairs until mid -november.

We need also to stop the transport trucks(oil tankers, heavy paving trucks, lumber trucks ect..) from coming across the main downtown bridge. There is another bridge just 5 minutes down the road that allows trucks to travel between both provinces. They make a turn just 3 blocks away and often cause tie-ups in traffic, shake the ground causing street& building damage...heaving forbid if the oil tankers have an accident or the tree lumber trucks do..the cars& people would not stand a chance!!!!!!!!!!

I would also ask that the garbage in the downtown core be picked up first before the 9am traffic and Tourists start their day.

We need also to enforce the "No Smoking Bylaw "in the tourist areas (including all city staff, and all security staff of any business wearing their work uniform.

We need also to remove the garbage cans from the street edge and the paper boxes to back against the wall with another recycle container along Rideau Street between Rideau Center and The Bay.

Please consider to paint the 2 under passes between the Rideau Center and The Bay perhaps light blue with white cloud instead of the dull boring brown.

Enforcement of all cube trucks-workmen car& trucks to be kept off(no exception) the bricked Sparks Street walkways where they end up breaking the bricks.

This Sparks Street walkway needs to either be paved over with a nice ceramic-or whatever design seem as they only splatted or lumped street black cement instead of replacing the beautiful regular bricks.Ugg....Aslo a nice paint design at each crosswalk.

Someone would like a colourful light cover to be stetched between the buildings ,in the spring-summer-early fall to provide shade for the tourists and for our great Buskier Festival Each year-plus other numerous delightful events for the whole family. This should be done for the spring upcoming. The money seems to be there as we now have new modern fancy rideau center bus shelters and have transformed the shopping center.

We need the railing all over the down town painted and hope that the numerous historical buildings will paint their building motiffs a color to be "noticed" including the famous Canada Post.

The city needs to offer the service ,perhaps 1 day a week the recycle trucks, to pick up the used paint cans of any size as many people cannot drop them off.

PS    We also need more rigorios enforcemnet by the bylaw people of keeping our dogs on the leash in public as this is not enforced and teh problem is running rampant and causing neighbours to have .conflicts.Really -why do the police have to be called for that .Hmmm
