Demand that Whiteface Mountain Open Lookout Mountain Terrain for the 16-17 Season

Whiteface Mountain has some of the best terrain in the east, and part of what sets it apart is the terrain on Lookout Mountain. Unfortunately, management has not been very eager to open that terrain in a timely manner in recent years. Late January/Early February has become the norm, and last year it didn't open at all.

Snowmaking has not even started on that summit this year, and management is showing no signs of changing that anytime soon. If it's not done soon, that section will not open at all this year, making it almost 3 years since people would have skied that terrain, assuming it opens next year which is not even a guarantee. Skiers visiting during Christmas Week did not have the opportunity to ski the Lookout terrain, and while understandable as it's still very early in the season, most other resorts had all their terrain sections open by that time. Now we're approaching MLK Weekend, which is often the busiest weekend of the year due to the Chevy Owner Appreciation event. This weekend will now pass having a large portion of the skiable terrain closed, and having the Lookout lift closed will result in long waits for the other lifts. Meanwhile, all other major ski areas have all their lifts ready to open for this busy weekend. Looking forward, if it doesn't open President's Weekend, the same will be true, and Whiteface will lose business in the long run. Lookout Mountain simply needs to be a priority to open, and as paying customers, we need to demand that result.
