Urge the NSW Government to Block any Private Hunting Parks - No More Cecil the Lion Stories!

Private hunting reserves - or game parks - will be debated in the NSW parliament after the Shooters and Fishers Party introduced a bill that would support such reserves, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Robert Brown from the Shooters and Fishers Party said his bill would amend the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and any other act that impeded the reserves.

This would be done to repeal the current ban on private game reserves so hunters would be free to hunt animals and trap shoot birds.

However, the Greens have opposed the idea - Greens MP, David Shoebridge, said in the report:

"The very idea of game parks, where well-armed hunters pay to kills animals that simply can't get away is not only deeply sad, it's offensive."

No animal deserves to be killed just for the pleasure of a hunter! The tragic and brutal killing of Cecil the Lion has opened the eyes of the world - no more killing for 'sport'.

Will you join me in urging the NSW Government not to allow private reserves for the killing of animals and birds?
