Pennsylvania, Don't Defund Planned Parenthood!

Pennsylvania State Representative Daryl Metcalfe is introducing legislation, called the Whole Woman's Health Funding Priority Act, that will defund Planned Parenthood and put health care providers that provide abortions at the bottom of the list for funding.

Planned Parenthood clinics receive a good percentage of their money through government funding such as Medicaid and Titles V, X, and XX. PP uses this money for maternity care, pap smears, STD treatment and testing, breast cancer screenings, and many other medical services for those that are uninsured or are low-income patients. None of this money is available to use to pay for abortions, which make up less than 3% of Planned Parenthood's services.

Many Planned Parenthood patients live in areas where there aren't other reproductive health providers. Defunding PP will leave thousands of Pennsylvanians without important medical services.

Please tell the Pennsylvania government not to defund Planned Parenthood!

Planned Parenthood uses its government funds to provide so many medical services -- from breast cancer screenings to maternity care -- to uninsured and low-income individuals. Without government funding, thousands of people will be left without a way to receive these important services.

Please do not defund Planned Parenthood!
