Urge USDA To Use More Humane Slaughtering Methods

This petition calls for the USDA to find ways of slaughter that reduce the stress of the animal being killed for meat.  Reality is that humans eat meat and making change in animal welfare causes me to reform reality.  I do not agree with the slaughter of any animal but if we are going to kill them, we should consider their welfare because their life is taken to nourish our bodies.  Since they are voiceless, it is our job to speak up for them.  The slaughter methods currently used are horrific and cruel.  They cut off the animals parts while their still alive, electrocute them, keep them in a pen full of their own feces.
Please sign and comment to make this reality change.  While its unrealistic to ask all of society to be vegan, it is not unrealistic to ask society to urge the people in charge of animals used for meat to slaughter them in the most humane way possible.
We the undersigned urge you to develop and implement more humane methods of slaughter used to reduce the stress of animals used for meat.  It is not realistic to ask you to stop the slaughter of animals because the reality is that humans eat meat, but since you are in charge of them, we urge you to consider them when they are slaughtered and ask that you find ways that are not so cruel and horrific.
These signatures represent a lot of us that are concerned with this matter.  Since this issue has come to you before by Dr. Temple Grandin, you will see that it is an important matter that needs to be addressed.
We know you are a very busy man and your work at the USDA is much appreciated, as is your time.  We look forward to seeing action and hope that you take this letter into consideration.
Sincerely,
