Demand Cease Placement & Removal of Current DECOBIKE Rentals & Stations in Pacific & Mission Beach

We the people of the Pacific and Mission beach communities of San Diego,CA demand a cease-placement of any more (Florida-based) DecoBike rental stations in our visitor/hospitality district, and ultimately, to have the current stations removed.

Not only has the placement of these DecoBike rental stations negatively impacted our local businesses, but we have learned that the city is allegedly reneging on the original DecoBike agreement.

It is our understanding that the City of San Diego is pushing to install more kiosks in the coastal/beach corridors to capture business from visitors, and at significant cost to many of our local business owners.

It appears that despite significant public opposition, the City of San Diego refuses to remove the current kiosks on the boardwalk. We the people do not agree that Florida-based DecoBike should be at liberty to place more stations where we the people do not want them.

As an aside, DecoBike stations, in addition to negatively impacting our local businesses, are generic and unattractive. They detract from the local, "beachy vibe" that is part of a culture we'd like to preserve.

In summary, for practical, aesthetic, ethical, and economic reasons Florida-based DecoBike are not welcome in our communities.

Dear City of San Diego,

Please cease placement of the Florida-based DecoBike rental stations in the Mission and Pacific Beach communities and remove the current stations.

The stations are generic, unattractive, detract from the beachy "feel" and culture of our community and most importantly have negatively impacted local businesses and resulted in financial loss. The City of San Diego has broken its promise that its bike share program is intended to accommodate locals for point-to-point transportation such as commuting, shopping, etc. Instead, the City is pushing to install more kiosks in the coastal/beach corridors to capture business from visitors, and all at significant cost to our local rental bike business owners.

We, the people, appreciate your support and prompt attention to resolve this matter.
