OVERVIEW: Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get Timothy Yowell, 65, of Downington, PA convicted of 3rd Degree Animal Cruelty charges. Yowell pushed his 13-year-old dog ‘PAX’ out of his moving car on the Garden State Parkway, ultimately killing him.

Timothy Yowell, 65, was charged, surrendered and subsequently released on a summons with a future court date. Originally from Bristol, CT. Yowell is now residing in Downington, Pennsylvania.

The 3rd degree animal cruelty charge stems from an incident that occurred on the Garden State Parkway on September 11, 2014 and a multi-jurisdiction investigation with the NJ State Police, NJSPCA and Bristol Connecticut Animal Control.

The dog, a lab mix, believed to be struck by a rear portion of Yowell’s vehicle before being fatally struck by a second vehicle. Yowell did not stop his vehicle and instead left the area, according to the investigation. When a NJSPCA sergeant recovered the dog’s remains, a tag was also recovered indicating that the dog belonged to Yowell.

According to the eyewitness account, Yowell never stopped or attempted to return to the scene of the incident and continued traveling south on the Garden State Parkway.  The eyewitness followed Yowell southbound on the Garden State Parkway all the way to the NJ Turnpike interchange. During that time, the eyewitness called 911, was connected to the NJ State Police and was able to pass along the make and model of the truck, the Connecticut license plate number and a description of Yowell. After getting home, the eyewitness reported the incident directly to the NJSPCA.

During the interview, Yowell stated that he owned his dog PAX (male lab/pit mix) for 12 years. According to Yowell, PAX was 13 years old and in good health.

We NEED to PUSH to ensure that this man is convicted of 3rd Degree Animal Cruelty charges, which can result in terms of three to five years in state prison.
