Fishing enhancement in Western North Carolina
This petition is in support of the enhancement, sustainability, growth and conservation of our lake fisheries locate s in Western North Carolina. We are asking for assistance from the state and local government for the following:
1. A sustainable stocking program for both large and smallmouth bass in our lakes to:
a. Enhance tourism in the region.
b. Increase and encourage tournament fishing.
c. The growth and development of youth in fishing and the outdoors.
d. Sustain the fish population from fish harvest and tournament pressure
2. The construction of artificial fish habitats to:
a. Ensure the survivability of the native and stocked fish.
b. Increase fishing spots for tourists and locals.
3. Affective management program to:
a. Grow trophy fish population.
b. Track growth in fisheries.
4. Introduction of noninvasive aquatic grass species to:
a. Ensure survivability.
