Demand Tuition Reimbursement Should There Be a California State University Faculty Strike

There have recently been efforts for a 5% General Salary Increase for all CSU faculty and an additional 2.65% Service Salary Increase for eligible faculty. Should CSU management reject this proposal, many of our teachers plan on striking from April 13-15 and 18-19.

We, the CSU students, acknowledge the faculty's right to strike and fully support them in their effort for a well-deserved pay increase. However, we are aware that we are investing extensive amounts of time and money into our own educations and that a strike significantly burdens us both academically and financially.

Given our tuition cost and the number of Academic Days in a school year, we deduce that students are individually entitled to a $210.41 tuition reimbursement should there be a five-day strike (HSU tuition: $7,196 / Academic Days per year: 171). Though management does not acknowledge this entitlement, we believe it only to be fair. Our goal is to put pressure on management demanding reimbursement should they not rightfully follow though with the CFA's requests. Thank you for supporting your teachers and fellow students!

Please sign this petition to support the CFA in their Fight for Five and demand student reimbursement for the days that the faculty are on strike.
