BAN Dog & Cat fur Imports Into Canada

  • by: Jana DiCarlo

Not Graphic.

Unlike many other countries, today Canada has no restrictions on fur, or type of fur, imports. This allows clothing and objects that are made or adorned with cat or dog fur to be sold, possibly even masquerading as "rabbit" , "wolf" etc.

In addition to being dishonest, it also promotes a horrific industry of of suffering, including the theft of pets.

It is not my aim to shock and horrify, so this petition is not graphic. However if you are not informed and wish to learn more, simply Google search "cat and dog meat / fur trade China" to inform yourself of what the reality is for millions of animals annually so your hood can have trim among other things.

The majority of this fur originates from China, though it is not limited to that country - other countries such as the Philipines and  Thailand are also to blame.

This heinous industry and the deliberate mislabelling to dupe buyers must end , and Canada must not be culpable in promoting or enabling it.

Urge the Canadian governement to create and enforce a ban on cat and dog fur, demand proper labelling, and enforce it.
