Tell Congress NO to Cuts For Medicare Advantage Programs!

I speak to you today from a very uniquely personal position when I call for your help to sign this petition today. I am employed by a home care provider who offers services through the Medicare Advantage Program taking care of my bed fast mother for more than 2 years now. This program allows millions of people to remain in their homes and receive personal care which is great for mental well being as they receive the one on one attention that they can't receive in a nursing facility.

This week Congress stepped in and stopped a 10.6% rate reduction in Medicare payments to doctors. I applaud them for their efforts, but now they have decided to make those cuts to the Medicare Advantage Program which allows many elderly individuals to remain in their homes and receive care versus being forced into nursing homes. The cost for an individual to receive care in their homes is a far more economically feasible option for our tax dollars rather than the high costs associated with a nursing facility.

The thought of funding being cut for this very vital program for millions is unconscionable. Please take a stand with me today and tell Congress NO to cuts for the Medicare Advantage Program.

Sincerely,
Harold Morris CNA

WE NEED MORE PROGRAMS LIKE THIS FOR OUR ELDERLY TO BE ABLE TO STAY IN THEIR OWN HOME AND BE TAKEN CARE OF BY A FAMILY MEMBER,INSTEAD OF A NURSING HOME EMPLOYEE WHO IS THERE TO RECIEVE PAYCHECK.

It is improtant that seniors have wellness benefits, which cost less then having to have a lot of drugs or going into the hospital. It is much better for seniors to be able the remain in their home than to be put in nursing homes which leaves a lot to desire.

Sure would be nice if you rich politicians would stop stealing from our elderly. My poor mother just found out that prevented health care is disallowed by you (whatever you are). And you only tell her this after 1 year? So now she is supposed to pay all those back bills? We the people have had enough. Chiropractors cost much less than other doctors do, & there are no addictive pills they have to get filled.

I agree the elderly needs to make the choice -not take it away ..please dont cut the funding that allows them to chose -they paid their share already -dont take it away

They are charging my mom almost a hundred dollars a month to keep her benefits. She lives on under a thousand a month. What is up with that Congress? Looks like someone in Washington DC has found another way to screw the elderly... No more cuts and no more charges. The elderly paid their fair share...

This really affects me since I work for a DME company. We were one of the companies that did not get the Medicare bid because they said that we were missing paperwork. We have copies of what was sent in for this bid and all paperwork that was required was sent in. When trying to appeal they rejected our case. My uncle is the owner of this little 5 employee DME company and we work our butts off doing everything we can for our patients. We are a good business and I don't want us put out of business because of this unfair and unethical bidding program by Medicare.

Since nursing home facilities are notoriously expensive they can eat up all the money the old & infirm have that could have lasted them longer. What if the money runs out before they die? Do they get kicked out & financially dependent on their kids -- if they have any? What about money for internment & a funeral? What about kids getting paid back for being there for them emotionally & personally? That might all happen or go down the drain if they're forced to rely on nursing home facilities. So, let's do right by our innocent, elderly, fellow Americans here.
