We, the undersigned feel strongly about the need for a Televised Fundraising event in support of Animal Rescue / Welfare Centres (similar to 'Comic Relief' , 'Red Nose' & 'Sports Relief' of which raised approx £57m & £29m).
Donations & financial support of animal rescue / welfare centres has dropped considerably this year.
For example the 'Horse Refuge' in Kent has been served with an eviction notice after the owner passed away.
Sara Ross who runs the Horse Refuge has desperately tried to raise the funds to secure her and the animals in her care's future. Sara has managed to 'borrow' a small area of land for the animals for the immediate future, but she herself is living in her car!. That is total dedication.
Another is 'Willows' based in Scotland. They too are in financial difficulty at the moment and may have to close by Christmas. Yet another Sanctuary called Farm Animal Sanctuary is in financial crisis as well. These are only a few that are in difficulty, it would take to long to name them all. It also helps to educate people on how important it is to look after our pets and wildlife, especially in these hard times.
Having a televised fundraising event such as 'Animals In Need' (similar format) to 'comic Relief' raising thousands if not millions would benefit these struggling Animal rescue / welfare centres considerably, and it would also bring awareness to the plight of animals here in the UK and abroad. How also the people who run these centres struggle everyday trying to help these animals. If Children In Need can raise over %uFFFD35 million every year........... then why not %uFFFD2 or %uFFFD3 million a year for animals?
If you love pets, animals in general, and care about wildlife and conservation projects then join our Petition and lets see animals get the help treatment and respect they deserve. - Wetnose Animal Aid first for moving forward! Red Nose is for humans, wetnose is for animals.
Support Wetnose for a 'Animals In Need' Televised Fundraising Event.
Thank you for your support
Dear Sir / Madam,
We the undersigned would very much appreciate your time in considering a Televised Fundraising event in support of Animal Welfare / rescue. Similar to that of 'Comic Relief', to raise awareness of the plight of animals in rescue / welfare Centres and also to raise much needed funds for the people running the centres to carry on the vital work they do in caring for these animals, paying vet bills, buying much needed equipment, food etc.
A high percentage of animal rescue / welfare centres are in financial crisis at the moment with donations and financial support considerably dropping.
If we do not act soon hundreds of animals will be needlessly put to sleep due to the lack of funds. Holding a televised fundraising event will help raise the money needed to help them.
Lets show that we really are a Nation of animal lovers by being the first to hold such an event.
I would like to thank you for your time in reading this letter as I understand that you are very busy and in the hope of gaining your support.
