I know his daughter is allergic to dogs/cats? however I know that there are certain dogs that would be ok. I would like to see the Obama's not only get their pet from a shelter or rescue, I think he should get a dog from the shelters that gas animals. I am sure with his resources it should not be hard to find out where these shelters are. That would really be SAVING an innocent animal. Maybe that would enlighten the American people even more about the atrocious way animals are killed. And something WOULD be done to stop this.

Future first family, I am sure this will be a family decision. Please consider a rescue dog. I have had many dogs and cats over the years and they have either come directly off the street or from the SPCA. They have all been the most loving, adorable,and grateful animals. It is like they have a certain sence that you have saved them from some awful fate. They make medications for that and by god I take it every day so I can enjoy my life with my best friend Amy (Rottweiler). You need to show your daughters how much love a dog can give them and how great it is to save the life of an innocent grateful dog. The unconditionable love they give is truly unmeasureable!
