Global Warming: Ask 2008 presidential candidates to make it a primary issue

Ask the candidates for President of the United States to make solving global warming a fore front issue in their campaigns.

Dear Candidate for President of the United States,

Global warming is an issue that must be addressed with a sense of urgency. Scientists around the world have come to a consensus that climate change is an issue of principal concern. Recent studies have revealed that the western part of the United States is experiencing global warming at a significantly faster pace than the rest of the world and that all warming trends are likely to accelerate. It is believed that urgent action is necessary to reverse the warming trend within the next 10 years.

Solving global warming is critical for the sustainability of our planet and would position the United States as a global leader for developing clean technologies. Proper leadership for such a critical issue has never been more necessary than it is today. The next president of the United States must view global warming as a critical issue. The future of our planet and our children depend on it.

We ask that you make solving global warming a primary topic for your presidential campaign and platform as Decision 2008 goes forward.
