Ban exotic animals from Circuses in Australia

"Extensive scientific research has shown conclusively that circus life is not compatible with the needs of exotic animals. Performing circus animals are kept for prolonged periods in close confinement, in artificial social groups and are continually being transported between circus venues for the duration of their performing lives. The life of an exotic circus animal leads to stress and boredom, and often results in abnormal behaviours or stereotypies, such as repetitive pacing or swaying. Coercing exotic animals to perform unnatural and sometimes dangerous tricks does nothing to educate the public or foster respect for animals, serves no valid conservation purpose and cannot be justified as anything more than an outdated form of entertainment. The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to follow the lead of the Australian Capital Territory and introduce a nationwide ban on exotic animals performing in circuses effective immediately" - RSPCA
We the undersigned are petitioning that you ban all circuses in Australia from using Exotic animals in their shows. This is an outdated form of entertainment and is unnecessary. Research has shown that  circus life is not compatible with the needs of exotic animals. These circus animals are kept in confinement and constantly being transported long distances between shows. Your support will mean that these animals already in the circus can live a more enriched life in a zoo or national park. It will also mean that no new animals will be bought to use in the circus, therefore saving many exotic animals from an unnatural and stressful life. Thank-you for your time. Kind Regards,
