Baughurst AFC Football Ground Appeal

Baughurst AFC Football Ground Appeal

Target:
To get Baughurst AFC a home ground
Sponsored by:

We, at Baughurst AFC, are campaigning to the council, for our own ground, we a upset that 1 team in the town has sole use of all the available pitches, and believe that we should be entitled to one of them.
As a club this is our first season in the Basingstoke Saturday League,
we want the club to progress quickly, We are having a festival in June
next year where they will be 6 aside football tournaments for all ages,
a Music festival with stage, where several well known acts have already
committed, and a large funfair. We already provide football coaching for
local school Burnham Copse. Next season we are hoping to introduce
junior teams, and want to work more with the community of Baughurst and
Tadley.
But this can not be done without the facilities been available, I have
really tried linking up with Hurst School, but they do not seem
interested, disappointing.
What we need is a pitch of our own in Baughurst or nearby, I am
disheartened to find that Tadley Calleva after having finished the
excellent facilities at Barlow's Park, still use at least 3 other
pitches in the area, those been The Green, Pineapple Fields, and at AWE.
There is now 4 football clubs in Tadley, ( Tadley Calleva, AFC Tadley,
Broomsquire AFC, and ourselves) Yet Tadley Calleva use all the available
facilities. This is wrong when they have their own Excellent facilities
at Barlow's Park.

Ideally we would love to use Pineapple Fields from next season, but
whether this is possible I do not know. Surely there is another council
owned field, that working together we can change to a football pitch. As
you know as soon as we can get a pitch somewhere, the grants available
from sports foundations to improve the facilities is endless. As a club
our financial background is good, although a football club is a
community project they are run as a business and 70% of new business's
fail within the first 6 months, we have not done this and now are ready
to move forward to the next stage, and provide football in the community
for all ages and sexes.
Please help us to help the community and progress as a club, and bring
better facilities to the community.
Cheers

If you open your eyes you will see this is not fair it's that simple. This is a matter that can easily be sorted and by doing so would greatly benifit everyone involved with Baughurst AFC.

I both work and socialise with a few of the players for Baughurst AFC. As a new club they need the support of the local community in order to flourish as both a business and a provider of local activities. They have said they are prepared to use any available space for more than the prerequisite of playing the club's football matches, which goes some way to assuring the public that they mean to stay.

As a personal friend of the chairman of the club I am more than aware of the frustrations he has in not having a regular ground to play/train on. A serious club needs facilities. Facilities mean a stronger team which means more supporters. More supporters allow the team to grow and flourish.
