He has coined many basketball phrases like 'slam dunk' and 'air ball', but the most recognized "Chick-ism" we love and cherish will forever be...
"This game's in the refrigerator, the door is closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard, and the Jell-O's jigglin'!"
Consequently, this petition is an official request for the Lakers organization to play old audio segments of Chick Hearn putting games away, in the most opportune time when the Lakers are almost certain to win, live via the Jumbotron.
What a great way to honor Chick Hearn, and a terrific way to excite the fans' emotions during the tail-end of the game. It will put a smile across every Lakers fan watching all over the world.
So let's make this a new Lakers tradition, sort of like playing Randy Newman's I Love L.A. after each victory.
