Who?

Recently I received a notice that." due to the economic environment" your bank is increasing my interest.  The funny thing about this whole note is I was going to ask for my interest rate to be decreased on my charge accounts  due to the "economic environment" and I am also involved in a petition to Congress to enact that the monies given to the banks also include stipulations that the next 3 years all credit card finance charges cannot exceed 10% interest charged so that the economic environment can do just that,

HELP THE PEOPLE GET BACK THEIR ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT.

What amazes me is that I have made, in good faith, monthly payments and even paid off the balance in full a few times.  I have been a member of Capital One  for many years and am appalled that there is so little responsibility from the bank except to try to milk more interest from the people when the country needs some help and compassion. Would it be nice to see Capital One step up and say to the people, "We are here to help get the economy back and we are here for you!"

We need some relief as Americans. Why should credit card companies get help and take advantage of us? This needs to be banned for now!

1. Information regarding the Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights Act, H.R. 5244. I believe that legislation failed because the interest was limited to 25 %. My feeling is that if the interest rate will be set at 50% or even 100% you would not have any problem to pass the bill. I have again only one question. Why politicians are treating us as idiots? Why is it so difficult for politicians to do the job we elected them to do? The interest for all credit cards should be set at 7%. 2. The Wall Street and bankers CEOs should be fired immediately, as they've wisely done in Europe. There are plenty of competent, honest people who would be thrilled with their jobs and complete pay package, including all forms of money, benefits, services, and in-kind payments. $500,000/yr. or less. Regards John
