English Version

Further to the article in LA PRESSE, edition of Saturday, May 1st, 2010 and the numerous comments and reactions received from real estate brokers from all over in Quebec, an approach was made by our colleagues of Sutton, to formally ask Mr. Beausejour to resign as CEO of the Real Estate Board of Greater Montreal.

The letter asking him to resign was served by bailiff on Tuesday May 11th.  Mr Patrick Juaneda, being the president od the Board of Directors of the Montreal Real Estate Board, employer of Mr Michel Beausejour,  was also served the same letter by way of bailiff.

This step has been undertaken in the interest we have to defend our profession and our credibility as the public servants.

We hope you will appreciate the seriousness of this approach which is an official position in favor of all players and brokers of our profession in the industry in which we operate together.

The problem with the article is the fact that Mr Beausejour is defining agents as "peddlers" and also inviting public to negociate the commissions.

NOTE 2 :  We do apologize for not translating the article.  Reasoning behind that is the fact that being very important and official  matter, we could not take the chance to mistranslate and not reproduce the real "feeling" and facts of the seriousness of the issue.
