Education for Street Children in Africa

Children in Street situations in Africa struggle to survive, and very rarely have any of their rights recognised. Street Children are hidden from society, and as such they very rarely get any opportunities for education.  Nevertheless, it can turn their whole lives around.

Street Child Africa is marking the twentieth anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by presenting this petition to Government and shadow politicians on the 20th November 2009. The purpose of the petition is to focus policy makers attention on the lack of protection and promotion of street children's rights in general, and their right to education in particular.
