End Nuclear Power Now

With the breakdown of the nuclear power plant in Japan the world is facing, once again, the specter of vast areas of land being off limits from radioactivity.
Phase out of this dangerous method of making energy and move into renewables and sustainable living.
Close the plants in an orderly and responsible manner and give each home a solar panel. It is time.
We the undersigned understand that the world has energy needs, however, nuclear power is not a sustainable method of reaching those goals.
One accident at Indian Point, or Seabrook, or Vermont Yankee could, potentially, leave vast areas of heavily populated areas unable to sustain human habitation for many, many years. Do we really need to take those kinds of risks? We plan for the possibilities but the unthinkable always happens, and when it does, as we see in Japan, there are terrible consequences. Move us away from the most dangerous means of creating energy and into sustainability, please, before it's too late.
