FREE STEVEN JAY RUSSELL

Steven Jay Russell, the controversial subject of a new movie, starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, is in a Texas prison for a sentence of over 100 years. The actual amount of time varies depending on the article you read. In Wikipedia you can find his page here:

And there is a great article on the Observer, here:

Is he a  serial murderer, serial rapist, serial rapist/murderer? No. He is a con man. His crimes are victimless, unless you consider credit card companies and large corporations, victims. I don't. Certainly not to the tune of over 100 years in prison.

Yes, Steven has escaped prison a number of times. Yes, he goes back to his old ways each time. But the man has an IQ of 163. Can you blame him. I can't.

The disparity between this harsh sentence and the crimes committed is incongruous. I am hoping that Governor Perry will see that a man of Steven's intelligence can be used for bigger and better things than serving the rest of his life in prison. To allow this man, with such numerous skills, brilliance and aptitude, to go to waste, is a sin beyond words and a grand miscarriage of justice.
I've started a petition and a facebook page to compel you, as the Governor of Texas, to pardon Steven Jay Russell and release him from prison.

So, we the undersigned, are petitioning for the timely release of Steven Jay Russell.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and petiton.
