Help Keep School Music Programs

Target:
Help us save our school music and art programs
Sponsored by:
Due to recent Budget cuts (Big ones) Countless schools are cutting out Music and Art Classes. Creativity can have a huge part in the success of Children, and Young adults. These classes helped inspire some of the great artists of today. So why on Earth would these stop? They are most commonly pushed aside as classes of lesser importance... Almost as if they'd benefit one any less than Math, English, ETC. But, not only are they  a crucial part in ones Future, but they help bring fun to one's academic life.  It may be a small act to reduce boredom... Which may effect the number of High school drop-outs in some way. Maybe a small cut back in Fieldtrip cost, or the support of Families could help. Please sign for the  renewal of what we once had all over the country.

I have been apart of the music scene for about 8 years and absolutely love it! This experience has influenced my future. I am now in college and plan to major in secondary Music Education. I am also a composer for concert band and full orchestra. I enjoy my hobby as a musician and composer and would love to see the younger generations enjoy it as well.

I have been in both music and art classes through grade school all the way up to high school. Learning how to read music and being part of a group of of musicians, learning an instrument and such has taught me many things such as responsibility, team work, and manners. Art classes have brought out my creativity and had shown me what I really wanted to do in my life. Thus, I am now an art major. I really hope kids can have the same opportunities that I have had..

From young kids to adults art and music has a everyday impact in their lives. Keeping art programs in school is proven to help reduce the violenece rates and every parent trys to keep the rates down. By getting children involved in music early can help reduce those rates. I am currently doing my senior paper on keep music programs in elementary schools and my goal is to make people become more aware of this problem.

I learned to appreciate music in school and children need to have that chance to do the same.

Music and the arts is the reason I made it through school. Don't torture these kids. They can benefit so much from these classes.

To nurture our spirits through the arts are just as important as strengthening our minds with other means of educating ourselves. Keep all the arts from being another cutback in the future of the welfare of our children.

My child has a mild form of Autism and since she has been able to be in band we have noticed improvement not only in her grades, but else where as well. Music does so much for a young mind that we need to ensure that it be taught in our schools!

I think music should be kept in schools. If they want to take something out,why don't they concentrate more on the drug situation?
