We the undersigned ask that the committee vote to re-instate softball for the 2016 Olympics. The hopes and dreams of thousands of young women all over the world depend on the sport of softball being a part of the Olympics. It has been said that softball doesn't have enough international support to justify it being in the Olympics and it has been dominated by the Americans. We hope to show with this petition and others like it that softball is truly an international sport that deserves Olympic recognition and should and always be a part of the Olympics. In the sport of softball, the Olympic Games is our World Series, our Superbowl, our World Cup and being in the Olympics is vital to the future of our sport. Please re-evaluate the decision that was made in 2006 by voting to re-instate the sport that we love to play and watch.

I have been playing softball for going on to 10 years, and when I found out USA softball will not occur I was crushed. I myself am determined, probably with millions of other girls to play for USA. It has been my dream to play for my country and to be someone like Jennie Finch, or Jessica Mendoza. I hope that one day I will be in Athens or Japan rooting on my USA teammates. I would love it if softball was still in the olympics and it would be AMAZING! Its just a suggestion, and if it does happen I will be there rooting on our girls!

My sister and I played softball, and now my daughter plays softball, it has always been her dream to play on the olympic team please reinstate softball in the olympics to give her and every other girl whos hopes and dreams are to represent the american team in the olympics a chance. These young athletes work so hard year around from all around the world in all kinds of weather to compete and some day be proud to put on that USA uniform please please please dont take that away from them.

I've been playing for about 4 years now and I can't tell you how devistating it would be if softball would be taken out of the world olympics. Girls work hard to be on the team and are in LOVE with the sport just like me. It's the passion, the dedication, the drive, and the heart to love softball. I think that anyone who loves and has played or is playing softball would be heat broken (not to mention upset and pist) if softball won't come back to the olmpics. Don't crush our dreams and hopes to be on the USA olympic softball team for 2012.

I'm 16 years old && Softball is my life. If it were to be taken out of the Olympics i would be devastated. I have worked so hard to be able to be good enough to hopefully play Olympic Softball and if Softball was no longer apart of the Olympics i would be crushed. With no chance of ever playing softball at an amazing level i would have nothing to work for and no reason to play the sport i love. I play softball and would LOVE to see it back in the Olympics for 2016. I am a huge fan of Cat Osterman and everyone on the USA Olympic team. Last year I got to meet Cat and Natasha Watley. You have no idea what that meant to me to get to see my heros play and get to meet them, too! It was an amazing experience that I'm sure I'll look back on as one (if not THE) best experience.

She has it all worked out, graduate, go to Texas A&M and then play for the USA team. We were able to go to Oklahoma City and watch the World Cup and meet the ladies - what an experience!!!! All those young girls having inspiring role models to look up to and to watch the sportsmanship that all the teams showed - the way these ladies behaved and treated each other and the fans is the true meaning of the olympics.

This doesn't make sense! In the Olympics, Russia is good at hockey and always will be. They won't take Hockey away from the Russians, but when the USA girls come to the field and they whoop everyone's butts, they take that away. Just imagine, Jennie Finch practices 6-7 hours a DAY, just so she can get better and better, and dominate again in the Olympics. If she does all that for nothing, and they don't allow softball in the Olympics, just imagine her pain. Think of all those little girls right now that look up to Jennie, and they would want to become a Professional Olympic Softball pitcher like her. Just imagine if all those little girls that have been practicing and practicing can't play in the Olympics? It's not fair! I find it hard to believe that with all of the ridiculous things that are considered sports in the summer olympics that not bringing back softball would even be considered. Women's softball is an athletic sport that is taken seriously in every highschool in the USA, and in every major country in the world. Not bringing it back to the olympics would be a travesty.

Last summer, my daughter's team played in the Big League Softball World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They played against teams from Puerto Rico, Canada, Phillipines and Poland. The camaraderie off the field was as fun and exciting as the competition on the field. Softball is not just an American sport; it's a World sport. I hope and pray that the IOC votes to re-instate softball for the 2016 Olympics for the sake of little girls all over the world. I would love to see my daughter, Robyn, and Jamie play for Team USA. |

I have followed softball in the olympics for the last 5 olympics and want to see it again. I have a grandaughter that loves to play and watches it with me during the softball season and on TV.
