please take a moment to read and sign this petition in the hope that something can be done to help the whales that inhabit our oceans in the aftermath of the U.S Supreme Court's decision to allow the navy to conduct sonar training.
Dear President- Elect Barack Obama,
we, the undersigned, strongly urge you to appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn their decision allowing the U.S navy to conduct far- range sonar training off the coast of California, which has proven to be extremely harmful to whales and other marine life, including a number of endangered species. In the event that this cannot be done, we ask that you intervene in the courts' decision so as to add strict and specific limitations to the navy's activities, such that the effects of their sonar exercises may pose the least possible threat to marine life. This is an issue of global concern and we, the citizens of the world, thank you in advance for your response to it.
