I have witnessed first hand the increasing use of disabled bays by able bodied, healthy very selfish people, at the same time watch unfortunate disable, have to struggle a lot further than they need, and little if anything is being done, not the powers that be, the National Disability Services, West Australian Acrod, or State and local Governments, shame shame shame, there but for the grace of God, go any one of us, by then its to late, you will find no one will care.

I very much support this as I have seen it happen as well. Then when a disabled person and especially a person with more of a disability who really needs the space comes along the disabled parking place is taken up by someone who doesn't have a disability. There is something people can do about it if they want to take a few minutes of their time to report it to the mall or store. Write down the license plate number and if you don't have a pen go and tell them at customer service what you need a pen and slip of paper for and I am sure they will help you. It is illegal to do this and I believe security at a mall may be able to have an announcement made or do something about it. People need to learn not to do this and that it is important that these places be left for the disabled. The only way they are going to learn is if they have to answer for it. I can pretty much guarntee that they won't do it again if they get in a bit of trouble for it. Good for you for starting this petition Keith.

I'm a companion nurse and take disabled people shopping etc, there r not enough bays to start with, but often there r more without Acrod stickers parking there, than with them, showing anyway, its pointless telling Acrod they do not want to know,

Daddy (RIP) wen he was very sick used to go to the shops, and had a walking frame, he hardly ever found a space near to the door to park, but wen he looked there was lotz of unthinking people, without a sticker parked there, don't they ever think of people like my dad who struggled to walk,

my bf was a paraplegic after a car accident, and we could never find a disable bay in the shopping centre, so had to go far from shops to find somewhere wide enough so he can get out of the car and into his wheelchair,

My best friend is wheelchair bound, paralized from the waist down, she finds it almost impossible to find a blue bay, then to find %25 are taken by none permit holders, and no one takes any notice or cares.
