This precious dog is NOT the attacker...she was the VICTIM!!

Maximum prison term of 4yrs wanted for Karley abuser

Target:
Riverside District Attorney, WILL ROBINSON
Our last petition was written in Nov 2008.  That petition was used to get Glynn Johnson arrested & charged with FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY.  Those who wish, may still sign the FIRST petition.

This petition is being written in hopes of getting the MAXIMUM prison term, which is 4 yrs. IF convicted of FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY.  We are hoping for a felony conviction.

We realize that the conviction & the sentence COMES from the Court not a petition.  But this case is very important to not only California but to all other states, where families have lost their pets/family members to abuse. Many people are watching this case very closely.

On May 1st., Glynn Johnson was "HELD TO ANSWER" for the beating death of KARLEY, a 6 month old German Shepard.  The Judge felt there was sufficient evidence to name Johnson the primary suspect in the death of Karley.  On May 15th, there will be an arraingment of Johnson.

For those of you that might not know the story of KARLEY, let me tell you a little about her.

Nov 3rd., 2008, Karley was beaten with a 12lb rock, her jaw was broken, she had swelling in her head & her skull had been crushed.  All of this was done by Glynn Johnson, who at the time, was employed as an LA COUNTY ASST. FIRE CHIEF.  Johnson has since retired from the Fire Dept.

On Nov. 3rd., Karley got out of her yard & was being returned to her home by a neighbor when Johnson stepped in & said that he would return Karley to her home.  Instead of returning her, he started beating her with the rock.  Johnson CLAIMED that Karley, for an unknown reason, ATTACKED him & started biting him.  He claims he FEARED FOR HIS LIFE.

The original neighbor witnessed what was taking place & tried to stop Johnson's attack.

Karley's injuries were so intense that she had to be put down.

If anyone would like to read the entire story of Karley, please go to:
justice4karley.com

We hope that you will join us in signing this petition & hopefully you will pass it along to your family & friends.

Glynn Johnson HAS to be held accountable for what he did.  This wasn't a case of a vicious dog attacking an innocent person.  Johnson ADMITTED that Karley had rolled over onto her BACK.  Everyone knows that that's a sign of SUBMISSION.

With this petition, we are asking that Johnson not only be CONVICTED of the felony but that he also receive the maximum prison sentence which is 4 yrs.

We ALL must stick together to STOP any & all animal abuse as well as human abuse.  Laws are in place for a reason.  We HAVE to step in & put a stop to all abuse when we witness it.  All you have to do is make a phone call.  You don't have to step in & try to physically stop it BUT you do have to take the first step which is picking up your phone.

We HAVE to be the voice for those that have no voice.  We have to be the voice behind that small child or that panicked & threatened spouse.  We have to be the voice for those defenseless animals.

Please join us in this attempt to make changes.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Robinson...we, the undersigned,  thank you for the hard work that you have done so far with this case.  We know that the verdict will come from the jurors on this case.   However, since we don't have a name for the Judge yet, this petition is being sent to you.

You have helped the Toole family for months now & that is greatly appreciated.

All we are asking for is that Glynn Johnson be held accountable for his actions...to be convicted of this horrendous crime & be convicted of FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY.

Everyone will be watching this case very carefully.  This kind of abuse takes place EVERY single day & it needs to stop.  And this case is showing people that they, too, don't have to sit back & accept what happens to their precious fur baby.  Our pets are NOT property...they really ARE a part of the family.  And they need to be treated as such.

Johnson deserves to spend the rest of his pathetic life rotting in prison for what he did to a defenseless animal. He does not deserve to call himself a member of the human race.

This is a tragic event. This stuff happens all the time and is totally uncalled for.

This is important to me because animals have no voice they can't tell us how they feel or whats wrong they depend on us to do that for them. Wild animals don't need our voice as much as domesticated animals they are our, yours and mine, to be responsible for to feed and take care of their needs.

To think people can treat poor defenseless puppies/dogs and animals like this is disgusting. What is this world coming to. We need to stop this!

Animal Cruelty shows a gross lack of compassion. The fact that he enjoyed hurting an animal is enough for me, but for those that need a human connection, these types of cruel behaviors are more than documented to lead to human cruelty. Please give him the maximun punishment and use this time wisely by treating his sick mind and heart. People that do such things are mentally ill and need treatment. He will be violent again. Protect the public and put him behind bars as long as possible; treat him, so that when he finally gets out, he will have half a chance to lead a better life - to do otherwise, will be a failure of justice!

I don't think 4 years is even enough for all the damage that has been done. It is truly a sick, psychotic and evil thing that this guy (I'm not going to give him the credit of calling him a "man") has done to a defenseless and helpless puppy. When this guy is convicted and sentenced, he will then go to prison and become the defenseless creature in a prison full of criminals who do not tolerate animal abuse and cruelty.

It breaks my heart to read stories like this. Things like this just should NOT be happening.

Please hold this person accountable for the abuse he has rendered to the defenseless animals. We must be the voice for these abused animals! I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted someone to take a rock to his head!

I am an animal lover and can't stand to see when defenseless animals get beaten by people who don't have any respect for them.

Please hold this person responsible for a crime that if minimized, only leads to more such inhumane and unspeakable acts. What he did draws on the basest and most deplorable of human conditions, and we HAVE TO stand for the rights of all living beings, if for no other reason than if it is accepted or minimized in this case, it is accepted and perpetuated in others. There is never an excuse, justification or reasoning to condone the beating or murder of an innocent animal. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER.

Who we are as a society, as citizens of the world, is demonstrated by our actions, attitudes and laws. Animal cruelty demonstrates the lowest case of humanity.

Cruelty to animals is a terrifying symptom of a person's inner personality. ANYONE that is cruel to animals will ALSO be cruel to other humans. Perhaps putting this individual inside a cage of 100 starving viscious dogs would be the proper sentence.

Animals have no voice in the courts...ciitizens must become aware that they will be prosecuted if they break laws pertaining to animal cruelty. Hitting a puppy with a twelve pound rock certainly constitutes a criminal act in my opinion. This person, if convicted, deserves to go to prison for the maximum term possibble.

Our society should have a ZERO tolerance for animal abuse. This man should receive the maximum penalty for his cruelty. Four years is much too lenient of a sentence for what he did to this dog. I think the penalties should be strengthened for crimes or neglect of animals.

this man should do as much jail time as possible. as a fire fighter he is to save lives all lives human and animal and if he is such an evil man that he could hurt an animal like that then he has no respect for any life! There really isnt enough time to give to this man for what he did! Shame on you Glynn Johnson you are a disgrace to emergency services!

Four years is not enough for a brutal killing such as this. What is additionally frightening is what else this person could be capable of.

Animal abuse is unacceptable. When owned by a human, animals are completely dependant upon their owners. Karley like any human that is being attached was defending herself. Glynn Johnson acted as though the life of another was of no value. Dogs are living, breathing, feeling beings.

It's important to me that he be sentenced to the maximum 4 years so that he and others "get the message" that animal cruelty is UNACCEPTABLE. There are other options besides violence when it comes to animals, children and other defenseless beings.

The only justice for Karley is to have Glynne Johnson served the maximum sentence. If it were up to me, Johnson would rot in jail. What a sick, sick, sick, person.

Animal cruelty is disgusting.

This is terrible that a person can only be punished a little bit for killing a helpless animal. I could NEVER imagine hurting my dog! If it were my choice, it would be a life sentence!

Because dogs are the most amazing and gentle creatures on this earth and don't deserve to be harmed

I cannot believe this man only faces 4 years. He should serve a life sentence - he is one sick SOB.

Animals, like children, are truly innocent and helpless to defend themselves. The laws against animal abuse are far too lenient.

# 4,113:

The premeditation shown by Johnson makes it seem conclusive that he did not "snap" -- four years of the incarceration of this man is not nearly enough "justice" for Karley, but is it all she has at this time: give her at least that.
# 4,112:

I cannot believe how cruel this story is. To beat a poor animal to death for no reason is beyond me. The person needs to pay for his actions. There is something to said about this mans character.

To be the voice for animals who deserve nothing but love not abuse. Abuse needs to stop!!

The very excuse that Glynn Johnson used in his defense, that he "feared for his life" from a 6-month old puppy, proves he is not a real man, but a wimpy, sadistic, and cruel monster that needs to be put away to protect all of us - not just the citizens and animals of LA County. Someone needs to publish his address and the problem will take care of itself.

There is NO excuse for abusing any animal.

My heart goes out to Karly. Poor little girl!!!! I hope this monster gets what he deserves..please give him the maximum and show that this behavior is NOT going to be tolerated any longer. Justice for all animals!!!!!

This is one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I have ever heard of. This monster is nothing short of a murderer. He should get at least 10 years, 4 years is not enough.

This person (you can't even really call him that) is supposed to be a trusted official. Look what he did. Society has to know that individuals can't go around viciously hurt a poor little puppy. I hope our justice system does the right thing. I will be following this as many others will be.

this man needs to be punished for his sick sick acts. animals have rights & is time for all people to realize this & start treating all animals humanely.
# 4,106:

This man needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. Unfortunately, 4 years is not enough but it is start and will send a message. This behavior cannot be tolerated in our society. My heart goes out to the Toole family. As an animal lover and parent to a dog and two cats I cannot even begin to imagine what they went through.
# 4,105:

2/10 This beast (not man) needs to be punished for what he did. A 6 month old defenseless puppy did not deserve the fate she received nor did the family deserve to endure the pain that followed or the visions that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Johnson deserves nothing less than the max allowed by law.
# 4,104:
5:40 pm PST, Feb 6, Winnie Kwong, California
convict him to the maximum sentence - which is not nearly enough. a six-months old puppy has no evil streak in her body. it's sickening to hear a grown man, a man of power and a man in a position to protect, can do something so evil and cruel, and then to blame it on an innocent puppy. this kind of evil act has to be stopped and stricter punishment must be handed out.
# 4,103:
3:59 pm PST, Feb 6, Linda Santa Maria, New York
This man needs more then 4 yrs in prison, because we all know that he will get out in less then 2 yrs. My heart goes out to this family for what they have gone through. If this man can do this to a puppy image what he would do to a human! Put him away!

Let's send a message to animal abusers that we will not tolerate their cruelty, and sentence the guilty to a maximum prison term - even though four years isn't nearly sufficient punishment for this horrendous crime.

I share my home with three dogs and two cats, and the idea of anything bad happening to any of them...is unthinkable. That this crime happened in my community is horrifying.
