Make ATVs street legal

Make ATVs street legal

Target:
Make atvs street legal in the state of Florida
Sponsored by:
I strongly think that atvs should be made street legal in the state of Florida for many different reasons. After just reading that atvs do not meet the height and size requirements to be legalized I do not see how they can say that, cause an atv is clearly larger than a motor scooter and even larger than most motorcycles and street bikes. Which brings me to the point that an atv would be safer considering that motor vehicle operators would be able to spot an atv riding down the road before a motorcycle. Another plus side would be that atvs are quiet slower than motorcycles and therefore would be driven more properly and most important safer. Though I do want atvs to be street legal I do agree that they should not be allowed on interstates or freeways for safety precautions. Also atvs should have to meet a set of specific guide lines and regulations to be considered eligible to become street legal. Examples of these regulations (headlights that can shine a minimum of 500ft, tailights that can be seen from 300ft, tag with tag light, reflectors on rear and sides, seat and foot pegs required, must meet emissions) plus many more depending on the state requirements. This is just a broad explanation as to why atvs should be made street legal. Thanks for reading and if you agree with me please sign, every signature counts.

Yes atvs should be street legal. I think the question is why shouldnt they be? With this economy it would be a great way for vendors and local government to make money with the same things motorcycles have to have to be street legal, with inspection insurance registration. I fell much saver on a quad than I do on a motorcycle and wish they were legal to ride on the road

The use of ATV's as street vehicles would be a good way to beat the prices at the pump and would allow people to commute to their jobs even in inclement weather such as snow or ice.

Saves gas. safer than motorcycles and scooter. should at least be able to ride on the side of the road at 40mph. and in the middle of the road in town. like a 49cc scooter

Make them street legal

so long as an ATV is capable of hi-way speeds, equipped with working lights/signals & horn, and regestered plate, along with road legal high pressure tires. the rider is wearing all of the appropreate safety gear and has a valad drivers licence there shouldnt be a problem.

Yes as a matter of fact. even in Canada.

i belive they should be made street legal when you have scooters that dont need a plate to be on the road and young kids riding them at least with a atv the person can plate it and bring in more money for the state

yes i do

ATVs should be allowed to be made into street legal machines. Of course safety and performance modifications and rules will have to be made. For example, the suspension will have to be modified or adjusted to be much stiffer than the stock suspension that is meant for off road use. That is just one of many modifications for a street legal ATV.

yes.
