Petition to ban the auction of exotic birds and animals

Target:
tbonlarr@co.palm-beach.fl.us

Please sign the following petition to end the auctioning of exotic birds and animals.  This practice must come to an end.  No animal should be sold to the highest bidder.  Exotic bird and animal owners should be screened, educated and licensed prior to being able to possess exotic animals.  Auctions only benefit the seller and has no benefits for the animals.

We the undersigned are asking that you ban future auctions of exotic birds and animals.  As I am sure you are aware of, exotic birds and animals are being released into the wild every day by uneducated owners who are no longer able to care for these animals.  If we allow auctions like this to go on, we are only contributing to the problem.   Parrots, like any other exotic animal, should not be auctioned off to the highest bidder.  Please help us to stop this outragous act by banning auctions of this kind.   Thank you for your time.

Exotic birds should remain exotic that is " OUTSIDE" of our day to day existence. Exotic birds need their true habitat, skies and liberty. Auctions of these peaceful, inspiring, rare and beautiful species are inhumane to the utmost. The resulting life in a cage is ridiculous and their release in the middle of the city is irresponsible. Please ban these auctions!

Parrots should not be auctioned off to the highest bidder! These people are usually uneducated as to a parrots needs and the birds end up being neglected and abused. Help stop the abuse and neglect by not allowing auctions.

I have seen the damage caused by uneducated and uniformed bird owners. These are not dogs and cats, domesticated for centuries. They are wild and exotic animals that have special dietary, intellectual and physical needs!

The widespread abuse and torture of exotics, especially during the act of smuggling them into 'intolerant' jurisdictions, is abhorrent to any human of good and kind nature. I encourage any who use the voice of this petition to heed the message here. End the auction of -all- living creatures. Thank you.

This makes me so sad as the picture os of a cockatoo native to my country and I do not beleive they should be kepy as a domestic 'pet' in any country.

I myself own a african grey parrot and feel bad for him ,and I also had a spider monkey when I was 16 and realized these animals belong free in their habitats with their own kind and not kept as pets.Who are we to keep them in cages or on chains.Or to be killed for the fun.We have to stop caging wild animals and saling them for profit.
