Petition US government the right to have our beloved Pets Tax deductable

Target:
Every pet owner in the United States of America
Sponsored by:
This petition was a thought many years ago, when I watched my mother struggle with four children. But we were able to manage having pets through it all. The only difference between now and then was my mother could hardly afford vet care because she was busy raising children. So often the pet would not get annually vaccinated or brought to the vet when ill. Having a pet is a pleasure and joy on many different levels. Especially to people like myself that don't have or cannot have children. If we were to allow our pets to be tax write deductable, the same as we do for our children, I believe the following results will happen, in time.
A. There will be less animals in shelters. Because people will not worry about not being able to afford them. They will choose to keep them.
B. People can afford to take care of them properly, with annual vaccinations, to simple spay and neutering( free resources available now in teh USA). We have excellent health plans made affordable today in the US. Banfield is one of them.
C. More controlled breeding from ,certified, private breeders and puppy mills. Create a certification breeding program to ensure certain ill bred pets are not being bred. Also to prevent more breeding in the fighting dog industry.
D. Health and well being the very same joys children bring to their parents are exactly the same joys pets bring to us!!
E. Animals whether it be horses, mules, dogs, birds or cats have been proven to be good for ones well being. Hense the reasons for therapeutic animal therapy.

There are many more reasons to find, yet I feel these are 5 of the most important to address.

If, and only if, this would just cover spaying/neutering, then yes. However, there are places to get free or very much reduced rates for necessary pet care. Try the Humane Soc. in your area. But we NEED human health care for all first. And yes, I love animals as much as the next person.

Aren't animals as important as children? I am not going to have any kids but I have three large dogs and four cats that I could REALLY use a tax break on! Why are people with kids singled out for help and pet owners are not? Many people seem to think that animals are not as important as people but I am not one of them. I believe that those of us who are compassionate, caring and open armed to animals ,especially animals who have behavior problems, abusive histories, aggression problems,or reasons why people may not want them( plain looks, big, black or dark, lots of energy, protective) , deserve some assistance. After all, how easy is it to find someone who actually cares and is not fixated on themselves? Surprisingly difficult!
