Please ban the sale of live animals at the Rochester Public Market

As patrons of the Rochester Public Market we are writing to ask you to ban the sale of live animals.  The sight of chickens, rabbits and ducks crammed into cages often without proper shade or water is very disturbing.  The noise of the crowds must be very stressful for them.  Once they are sold what happens to them?  There's no way of knowing if they are receiving proper care.  If they are being sold to be killed and eaten, are they humanely killed?  It may not be illegal to sell live animals at a public market but we are asking that you do the right thing and tell your vendors they are no longer allowed to do so.
