Please please unite as fellow human beings to shout scream for change to these awful laws. "and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."Lincoln This country was created by immigrants, but aside from that no matter what your status let not terrorism allow for people in this country to turn on other human beings here and the government allow this treatment on others. It has to stop now. Mr. President it has to end now! Please hear the voices the stories.

I was ready to write 'I hope...' and suddenly realised hope is not enough. What's needed is action.

We must treat all humans with respect and dignity always. This is a nation of immigrants...let us never forget that.

For a country founded by and built by immigrants, our government should be ashamed of the detaining and treatment innocent immigrants. These post-9/11 laws are dispicable. We are not the democracy we claim to be. Someone needs to change the plaque at the Statue of Liberty to say "keep your poor, your tired... hell keep them all. We don't want them."

We cannot call ourselves a beacon of democracy if we engage in the same type of human rights violations that we constantly accuse other nations of practicing.

There should be no question that in 100 years we will look at these endorsed practices as sick and barbaric. Why wait that long?

These detention centers are a complete outrage. There needs to be accountability for those who work there. Their actions are criminal.

What gives? Even if these people are illegal immigrants, they are still people. They should be treated humanely and with dignity.

This is appalling behavior that is happening here in the "land of the free and the home of the brave." To learn about this information makes me feel ashamed to be an American citizen. I worked very hard for Obama's campaign, donating time and money to "make a changes," in this country for the better. This sounds like an issue of abuse and neglect that needs changed immediately.

Most of us, who are USA citizens, hail from immigrant stock even if we ourselves are not direct immigrants. It was the open arms of the USA who welcomed my maternal great grandparents and my paternal grandparents - they were proud to become citizens of this great country, only I fear were they still alive they would be distraught and ashamed if they knew what was happening to those who are now immigrants. My ancestors, like the majority of immigrants, came to this country for a better life for themselves and their children - and they worked hard to make themselves and their new country proud. We must make ourselves proud by treating all inhabitants of the USA with dignity. It is the only way.
