Retire Gary Carter's #8

Gary Carter has grown gravely ill.  This was a player that was greatly responsible for tme Mets success in the 1980s, and the team should honor him.  They need to have a Gary Carter day, and retire his number, before he is too sick to enjoy it.

We the undersigned are requesting your attention.  As you know Gary Carter is gravely ill.  He brought you, and us, the fans, a great deal of joy and success in the 1980s.  He was a fan favorite, and a main cog that made the team the championship team that it became.  As such, we feel his #8 should be retired, before he is too sick to appreciate it.  We would really appreciate a Gary Carter day, so we can honor this man's contribution to the team, and give him a chance to receive our cheers one more time.  Thank you for your attention
