As a long time supporter of a wildlife i just recently learned that Grand Tetons National Park, Wy,USA is only park who allows hunters to come in season and hunt for Elks...There is ecosystem in the park and boundaries that other animals cross those such as bears, bisons, moose and many more....Who will admit they shot mother bear or a cub while in and out of hybernations...during season time...who is there that monitors if these innocent animals die from a bullet.....and who will garantee me that i will be alive if i go hiking outside those boundaries...Is life worth anything today or is is realy important hunting for sport inside park...many dont realize that this national park allows hunting inside the park...This Law is 100 old set by founding fathers...and its not up to todays standard.... I am a professional photographer who sells photography and donates 100% proceeds to Grand Tetons National Park...I like to see this Law changed which BTW only USA president can do that and by bellow signing petition I swear that this is only intention with this petition... Please all otthers sign petition to stop KILLING innocent animals and potential danger to humans inside Grand Tetons National Park
Maybe we can make a difference and change barberic law that this country still enforce...

Hunting in GTNP has been going on for a long time. I understand it takes a huge effort to change this and speaking to Game and Fish as well as National Park personnel, I never get a straight or consistent answer which makes me wonder how such power is allowed to regulate the life of animals that reside in our National Parks.
It is easier to predict what a bear will do than a human being, especially a human being with a gun in his or her hand that has gained the right to hunt in our Parks.
Hunters are filled with adrenaline and passion in taking down an animal with a hot slug or an arrow. Many cheat at their efforts. Many don't even need the food and end up giving it away to others as it sits in their freezers for months or even years.
Many hunters are ignorant to the behavior of bears as well as other animals. Many hunters dislike some animals such as the Grizzly and the wolf. Many hunters, when given the opportunity will shoot a bear if they think it is attacking when it is only going after a food source or walking thru the neighborhood or simply just being a bear.
I have seen it all, the minds of hunters. Immoral and illegal are many of them, because the freedom they have in the woods provides them with the choice to make covert decisions which are very difficult to prove without a witness.
One case, three years ago was witnessed by two married adults who told me first hand that while watching a Mule Deer Buck, Doe and Fawn
on Grassy Lake Rd at Flagg Ranch, WY...the Buck was shot dead by a hunter illegally shooting across the road. The hunter happened to be an off duty park ranger. The observers reported it but were tourists and had to leave town unable to follow up on the incident. The following year, I ask another ranger what happened in that case and he said the hunter never shot across the road but transfered himself(job) to another location. Wow !! How could someone who actually saw the act, make such an error in judgement, thinking that the hunter/ranger did in deed shoot from the other side of the road.
Why ? Because it is a cover up. That is why.
You see, there are many hunters that are not educated enough to handle a situation morally or legally, They are children when the power of the rifle is in thy hands. They are sick.
Why, a government agency who is supposed to protect grizzly bears in a grizzly bear management area (GTNP) allows the hunting of Elk in such areas knowing very well bears will show up sooner or later at the point of kill. Or is it that the power of the Park Service as well as G & F is as ignorant as many of those hunters I speak of.
Why do u just not regulate Elk hunting to take place on refuge grounds were a bear can be seen for a great distance.
We all know very well, this case of the hunter killing the bear was a case of simple ignorance. The hunter could have easily backed off. Any one who has the time to draw a rifle on a bear has time to make another decision. This is bullshit and only people of wisdom know this. Cover it up, lie, act stupid, do what you want. This is no accident, this is hunter ignorance and possible greed and a poor case of Bear Management.
Weed out the Elk via a different plan. They congregate in the National Elk Refuge every year and other feed sites. Take them down and give the meat away by lottery as this is a better solution. Though, the funds generated from park hunting permits are a huge source of revenue. That revenue can be obtained by lottery fees. Or simply fees for purchasing elk meat.
Or is it the thrill of the kill that a hunter must find the means to take down an elk. Sure that is part of it, just don't do it in the Park.
There is always a solution to everything, yet people of power become lazy when they find no benefit in it for them, the change is not their idea, the change would be a result of an embarrassing act which only honest people would not have a problem accepting or the power has no understanding or is ignorant to the situation at hand.
Take your pick. It is sad when you protect a species and allow for the inevitable destruction of such creatures because entities truly have cogged the flow of reasonable decision making due to that I speak of above.
But then, this is what America has based it's entire existence on. We have a revolution because our king has levied taxes on us, yet in a day when we scream about being taxed so much, we don't revolt, we just find ways to cheat and fraud, not only our brothers, but the very conscience that regulates our decision making. In other words, we are fraudulent to ourselves and any God we so believe in.
We are the savages, not the Indians we massacred or the black man we whipped, beat and enslaved all those years to make our country the power house it has become.
Yes, we are frauds and that hunter that shot and killed 399's cubs is part of this system of greed, ignorance and fraud. Watch how it progresses and you shall witness these attributes on every level of explanation.
I think Mother Nature would be better of if we, as humans simply gave up our right to exist and allow the planet to regain it's balance.
Sorry 399. what else would or could u expect from human intervention. We never seem to get it right, so why start now.
Sorry.

Stop guns from being permitted in our parks. No hunting! This is the people's land and should not be permitted.
