I am from the state of Victoria and briefly saw the news a few weeks ago about those poor 101 poodles and other dogs that have been neglected. My heart aches for the dogs and I am still wondering how they are progressing since being in the great care of the RSPCA? It deeply saddens me that those poor dogs have been mistreated. All of the dogs were in poor condition, with matted fur clotted with urine and faeces, ear infections, and some infested with maggots. From this occurrence, I am so against puppy farming or back yard breeding as you could call it, which is not monitored strictly by local and animal health authorities.
Sadly purebred puppies or x breeds are produced in massive numbers. Unfortunately the dogs live in conditions that are inhumane, lacking in quality food and shelter, little veterinary care, overcrowded cages and little freedom to roam and be loved by humans. The puppies are then sold directly either to pet shops, via the Internet or newspaper ads within Australia. Now is the time to fight against inhumane puppy mills.
It has also come to my attention that certain advertising websites have listed the so called business that the RSPCA raided recently and rescued 101 dogs. This saddens me to the point that I have even contacted them and only one so far has responded and is prepared to do something about removing the listing. All Aussie businesses should ban such a person to advertise on their website.
More devastating, I came across yahoo 7 members room and was totally horrified what I read. Sadly one member commented that unfortunately they had to put their German Sheppard down because they had temporally placed their dog in the care of Waterford Boarding Kennels, whilst in the process of moving to WA. My wish is for authorities to look into the matter further and stop puppy farming of poorer quality.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Save our animals from imprisonment and cruelty and allow them the opportunity to live a wonderful life.
So please join in the fight to ban puppy mills by signing my petition today!

We the undersigned,
request that you ban all puppy farming of poor quality in Australia. It is also our wish that procedures and practices are implemented to strictly monitor all breeders, groomers, kennels and catteries in Australia by the appropriate authorities.
Unfortunately the recent raids by the RSPCA and police in QLD where 101 dogs were seized, is a very sad and devesting example of inhumane, unregistered breeders and boarding kennels. All of the dogs were in poor condition, with matted fur clotted with urine and faeces, ear infections, and some infested with maggots.
Is this what Australia should be seen as? We are those poor animals voices. Our furry friends did not asked to live in conditions that are inhumane, lacking in quality food and shelter, little veterinary care, overcrowded cages and little freedom to roam and be loved by humans. The puppies did not ask to be sold directly either to pet shops, via the Internet or newspaper ads within Australia and overseas. All animals have a right be loved and have space to roam.
NOW IS THE TIME!
Please ban all puppy farming or back yard breeding as you could call it, which is not monitored strictly by local and animal health authorities.
Save our animals from imprisonment and inhumane cruelty and allow them the opportunity to live a wonderful life. You can make a difference.

I am so ashamed that these cruelties are still happening today. Please stop all the breeding in puppymills. When do we treat our fellow species in a decent way. Do we humans want to be treatened in a decent and respectful way?! |

Mr. Prime Minister, Steve Irwin would be so upset by this! Please, ban puppy mills, the puppies/dogs haven't done anything wrong! In Steve Irwin's memory and for all he stood for, please take positive action and make puppy mills a thing of the past. Please have your dog spayed or neutered and keep them close to home. |
Stop ALL puppy mills! Only get your puppies from shelters or from reputible breeders where you may see the parents and the place where the puppies were born and in what conditions. Put these TERRIBLE, heartless, and cruel people OUT OF BUSINESS!!

We do not need disgustingly cruel dog breeders to supply pet shops when there are 160,000 dogs being put down in NSW along each year. If people wish to adopt a companion animal there are plenty of rescue agencies, pounds and vets where they can save a life instead of supporting cruel puppy mills. Banning all pets shops from selling companion animals is long overdue and needs immediate attention. Please check the following URL for details on how puppy mills are run and sign the petition while you are there. Puppy mills are bad news everywhere not only in Australia, lets lead the way and ban them once and for all. http://www.deathrowpets.net/ |

It is a privilege not a right to have an animal, and we have a responsibility to care for the animal in a loving and appropriate manner; this is not done by the greedy people exploiting them for profit at the Puppy Mills. The Parent dogs live totally miserable lives until they are of no further use, then they kill them. They treat them not as a living sentient creature, but a commodity. The pups are prone to have health problems associated with this type of breeding and lack of care. The people responsible for this despicable abuse of our wonderful animals have lost their humanity and are a danger to society. "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way it treats its animals" Ghandi. |
