SAVE PONTIAC! AN AMERICAN ICON!

SAVE PONTIAC! AN AMERICAN ICON!

Target:
get GMs attention

to get general motors attention so that they know that they would be making a big mistake getting rid of Pontiac.

to get general motors attention so that they know that they would be making a big mistake getting rid of Pontiac.

We the undersigned do submit this petition to get general motors attention so that they know that they would be making a big mistake getting rid of Pontiac. Pontiac is more than just a brand of cars to millions of people around the world, they are a lifestyle and an American legacy. We understand the hardships brought on by the current status of the American economy and each and every American citizen is feeling it right now. But getting rid of such an American Icon is not the answer. If a car line up has to be gotten rid of by GM how about they get rid of saturn or one of their other overpriced subsidaries. Or how about they cut the pay of the multi-million dollar a year ceos or other highly over-paid employees. If GM wants to get rid of a familiar car lineup why not get rid of the highly overpriced cadillac lineup.

I have owned Pontiac all my life, and I am sorry to hear that GM is considering discontinuing the line. I can assure you that if Pontiac is discontinued, you will lose another long time loyal customer, as well as a number of other friends and family members I know who are also Pontiac fans. I hope you will reconsider!! I would rather see ANY other line discontinued rather than Pontiac, as they are the BEST!!! I believe you would bd placing one of the final nails in your coffin if you do this.

I'm NOT one who thinks GM needs to slim down. It was a mistake to lose Oldsmobile, and it will be a mistake to lose Pontiac as well.Don't make the same mistake twice.Improve the speed with which cars are brought to market. Work on cutting waste within the company, stop making bad union deals.I only buy GM! I like having more choices in the GM family!Long live GM, and all of it's great brands!!

I'm a Pontiac enthusiast and have owned several Pontiac cars. Right now, I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am GT Coupe. When the time comes to replace it, I was hoping to get a G6 GT Coupe. If Pontiac goes, GM shouldn't count on my business. Pontiac represents a unique driving experience that is not offered by the other brands in GM's stable. If you have to do anything to pare down the product overlap and number of brands, merge Saturn with Pontiac. Move all SUV/truck/van products to GMC. Chevrolet can stay as the car division. Cadillac can stay as the luxury division. Buick really has no future that I can see. What could be simpler? A car division, a performance division, a luxury division, and a truck/van/SUV division. No overlap. Good luck GM/Pontiac! I want to see you around for a long time to come. Nick B

Get rid of GMC (the product line is redundant anyway) as well as Buick. No one buys Buicks! People still drool over Pontiacs! Give us an amazing (yet fuel efficient, it can be done) GTO and turn Pontiac into the exciting, youth driven car brand it was in the '60s and '70s. Get rid of all Chevrolet Cars (except Corvette) and make Chevy your truck brand. Make Cadillac (after dropping the Escalade) your sole luxury brand. Pontiac would then become your main Car brand, making GMs entire line less repetitive yet still varied. If Pontiac goes away, this longtime GM devotee will never buy GM again! My newest car is already a VW...

Save the Pontiac brand! It's one of the most innovative of the GM line. Kill off Buick or Cadillac if you have to. I love my Pontiac Vibe with over 105,000 miles. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Looking forward to another Vibe with AWD! Love my Pontiac dealer(#1 Cochran in Monroeville, PA) and their Quick Service Dept. GM would be fools to kill off Pontiac or Saturn!

Keep Chevy for economy models, family sedans, trucks, fleet and cop cars, and the 'vette. Keep Cadillac for luxury models. Keep Pontiac for sport/high-performance sedans and coupes. Dump the rest. And bring back the Firebird! 1966 Tempest; 1976 Firebird; 1983 6000; 1991 Bonneville; 1993 Grand Am; 1994 Grand Prix; 2004 Grand Prix

I own a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am and my brother owns a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. Our family has had 77 and 78 Firebirds as well. I say get rid of Saturn, Hummer, Buick, and GMC. Sell Saab and keep Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac. Chevy makes all the same things that GMC does and they can add the luxury options to their line up. No SUVs or Trucks in any lineup but Chevy. AND LAST PLEASE GM BRING BACK THAT FIREBIRD!

If youre not going to build exciting Pontiac cars, read: rear wheel drive V8 coupes with musclular body lines, like the Pontiac Firebird, then to hell with it; go ahead and kill Pontiac. But while youre at it, there is no need for Saturn - anything they make can be called a Chevy. Buick - anything they make can be called a Cadillac...what does Buick make, btw? and Hummer??? an entire division to build one model? can't this ridiculous vehicle be a GMC...or a Cadillac if GMC isnt enough of a status symbol for those who would buy a Hummer? but, if it were my world, i would have the innovation to make the fuel efficient cars that could be made 25 years ago, yet are impossible to make today - and the balls to make high powered Pontiacs that are unique performance vehicles, not copies of chevrolets and not copies of Austrailian "performance sedans" with nostalgic names slapped on them. This is a large American car company and one of the last few left still producing great vehicles. As well as older classics like the firebird. Those cars may not be coming back but the name Pontiac should live on.

Pontiac and Saturn is your future GM, trash Saab, & Buick. To suceed in the market, you need to get aggresive in styling, to appeal to the younger market. While making them affordable and economic. Saturn has been on a breaking point of design, but hasn't been listening to the younger consumers. They would love a car that styled like the sky, but was offered like the Astra ( a 3 & 5 door hatch). The vue and the outlook is just too silly, Gm's ploblem is too many SUV's. Now for Pontiac, wow where to start! The G5, G6 , and G8 are great, the Pontiac soltice and the Saturn sky are competing with each other. It's like sibling rivialry. That's GM's problem. The vibe and the torrent, well once again too many SUV's. Where's the hatches to compete with the imports? The Aveo and Astra doesn't cut it!!! How old are your designers, lol! Why even keep Buick? It's like a cheap version Cadilac! Chevy has six SUV's by it's self, and Gm's line includes 34 total wow!!! Gm needs to employ me to downsize and redesign their whole line up!!!!
