SAVE THE STREET DOGS OF ALTINKUM, DIDIM, TURKEY
Altinkum, Didim, is a beautiful seaside resort on the Agean coast.
But it has a dark side ... The disappearance recently of many of the street dogs, Many of which have been known to locals and regular tourists for many years. - These dogs all have ear tags, which means they have been neutered , So why are they taking them ? We want to know !

Despite many outraged people emailing the municiple authorities no one has had a single reply.
Someone is responsible for the removal of these dogs ! We want to know who and why !
It has been said that the dogs were taken into the mountains and left to die of thirst and hunger..... If true, this is unacceptable !

We therefore ask that Altinkum Didim be boycotted as a holiday resort until :
1 - Those responsible are held accountable under Turkish law.
2 - No more healthy dogs to be removed or killed in Altinkum, Didim.
3 - That it be made public as to where the dogs were taken.
4 - That the neuter and release shelter get full support from the Didim municipality.

Will boycott Altinkum, Didim, TURKEY. Until the following criteria are met :
1 - Until assurances are given that never again will any dogs be illegally taken from Altinkum, Didim.
2 - That a full enquiry be held in to the disappearance of dogs throughout June and July 2008.
3 - That once proven those responsable for the dogs disappearance be held accountable under Turkish law.
4 - That the municipality give full financial support to the neuter and release shelter.
i know many people who have sworn not to take anymore holidays in greece, i being one of them,when will you ever learn?
For a muslim country you should be ashamed, muslims were not taught to torture, rape and kill any animals, start praying for your souls you are very bad goverment people that are soley thinking f your own greed, wrath of allah will fall upon you
Just a bit of money to be spent to build some nice shelters, vets to spay and vaccinate,food that i am sure if you asked tourists to help donate they would, this is what is needed.NOT CRUELTY, i will not visit until i see positive changes
hi i was in altinkum in june,in fact i just got back and i was alarmed at the number of pups and dogs on the street, some are supposedly owned but not fed by there owners, i have found it very distressing to see, my husband and i would go out of an evening to feed them and give a drink also. I to do not want to see these dogs come to harm by a humans hands, these poor animals have been treated a nasty blow in life and through no fault of there own been left to fend for themselves in the only way they know how, we are going out again in sept and would like to know more about getting involved more
when you have no brains then you cannot see what idiots you are, because tourists love the animals, and when they know the horrible way you treat them ,no tourists want to visit your country
If you want tourists then treat the animals kindly with shelters, vaccinations, spaying and food, you are a lot of fools and very un-educated
No more hoildays in turkey for me until this stops!
What is happening to the neutered dogs we want to know!

I no longer will even consider about taking a holiday in Turkey, I am an animal lover, and anyone hurting them deserves to be rotting in hell, so you people that abuse the animals of turkey GO TO HELL AND FAST thanks
I have Purchased a propeorty in Altinkum, and yes, there are street dogs, however, they do no harm and are sweet natured. I feel the programme of neutering then releasing them back to where they were found was a fantastic idea and appladed the Turkish for the ingeniuos idea. Why then when it suits the local government do they think it is OK to round up these dogs and keep them in extrem conditions, what was a brilliant idea is now turning into a slaughter of these wonderful dogs Sharon
Turkish people appear ver friendly, but i will no longer be fooled by them as now i know what they do to the animals, i can no longer visit such a country, i will indeed take holidays in countries where they treat animals with care and humanity. There is a small animal rescue over in didim i suggest folks reading this support them way before the turkish economy, hit them where it hurst keep you money from their tourism I think it is called DIDIMFRIENDSOFANIMALS.COM
If you were to show concern and humanities towards the animals the tourists would be flocking to holiday in Turkey, but as it is all of us that know of this cruelty will keep well away from ever wanting to take our holiday there, so change your ways if you want more tourists
Look after dogs and cats, all they need is shelters and medical care, and food,show you can look after them
For gods sake stop killing the animals that do no harm to anyone, how about spending money on shelters and training them to lead blind people,You must all be blind over there to not be able to see dogs and cats are intelligent beings, it is you lot of idiots that are un-educated and behind times

Turkey, this is your shame. You are a predominenly muslim country & cruelty to any living creature is absolutely forbidden in Islam. Neither the majority of tourists or locals have a problem with these street dogs.Leave them alone, do you not think these poor creatures have suffered enough?
WE HAVE A APPARTMENT IN ALTINKUM AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING OUR DOGS WE TAKE LOADS OF DOG AND CAT FOOD OUT WITH US THEY ARE ALL LOVELY AND FRIENDLY WE HAVE NOT ONCE COME ACROSS ONE NASTY ANIMAL TAGGED OR NOT AND WE ARE DISGUSTED WITH THE WAY THESE LOVELY ANIMALS ARE TREATED I WISH WE NEVER BOUGHTAN APPARTMENT IN TURKEY
