Established more than 20 years ago by British expat Jane Reynolds, the Centro Canino Internacional is now in its third decade of fighting for animal rights and helping to protect and care for abandoned and unwanted pets from all over Mallorca, but principally from the south-west and Palma city.
Over the years, we have saved literally thousands of dogs, cats, horses and donkeys from either neglect or physical cruelty.
Palma Council want to close the centro canino and take our animals away to be destroyed. We don't want them to kill our dogs.We ask for NO money from Palma council. We just want to be allowed to help animals on our beautiful Island.
The centro is a member of World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and the RSPCA and the Europäischer Tier-Und Naturschutz e.V.

Animals have a right to share our planet and live healthy stress-free lives wheather they are domestic pets or livestock and farm animals bred to supply our world food. Education and informative media on spay/neuter services and affordable programs to decrease the over population of stray animals, is desperately needed to put a stop to the suffering and neglect of unwanted animals. Young children should be taught how to treat their pets, and should be closely supervised by an adult who can quickly intervene before unintentional abuse takes place by those that are too young to know better. Organic and non-crowded facilities for livestock, mean happier, less stressed farm animals, and provides much healthier and better tasting food sources; free of hormones and disease ridden bacterias. It's our world...We can save it, or surely perish along with it.

Suzanne Conboy-Hill, a psychologist, said: “Research in the United States shows that often people who have been imprisoned for violent or sadistic crime have also confessed to carrying out cruel acts against animals.” Therefore, this animal shelter offers a tiny slice of humanity to living creatures. Please keep it open. Thank you.
