I also agree that using a deity from whatever faith to market alcoholic beverages is in poor taste. But this lawsuit seeking a billion bucks in the name of Hindus worldwide is a classic example of how political correctness has really gotten out of hand. As an American citizen of Indian background, I feel the beer company made a mistake, and its apology and withdrawal of the "beer Ganesha" logo is enough. It's not the job of food producers to know the sentiments and details of each and every culture on Earth! If they had practised racism against employees or customers, I too would have been on the warpath. But this lawsuit is plain overdo.

I consider putting a goddess on a bottle of beer is infamous, a complete lack of respect, an insult to religion! Whats wrong with your moral, if you have any??????

At first, I didn't think much of this....then I realized that the idea of putting holy figures on alcoholic beverages & cigarettes (especially those from faiths that are against such substances) is blasphemous in a sense of these beings endorsing stuff they're against. It's like using Moses or Mohammed to sell pork sausages. Hindu Deities are sacred & we should respect others faiths.

Why would putting Lord Genesha's likeness on this even be considered? Why not put Jesus on there, according to the bible he drank quite a bit.

Putting Lord Ganesh on these labels really doesn't make any sense considering who Lord Ganesh is and what he rules over. It's really just an exploitation of a well recognized spiritual figure and out of respect it should be removed. Would you put images of Mary or Jesus on your bottles? Think about it, you wouldn't. The disrespect is just the same in this case.

It is an insult to the feelings and religious sentiments of the Hindu community every where. The depiction of Lord Ganesha on the beer bottles be immediately removed. The leaders of Hindu community in the USA should seek an urgent apology from the maunfacturers and distributors.
