Step Up Animal Welfare Law Implementation

The Animal Welfare Act of 1966 and its subsequent amendments  comprise the only federal law covering the issue of animal welfare. Sadly, many horrific abuses are still suffered by the very animals which the Act protects. Practices such as excessive hunting, inhumane treatment, fox penning and euthanasia are still in existence and are very much alive in the world today. By signing this, you will be telling our leaders, our communities and the world that animals and their treatment are vital issues that matter on a large scale. Make a difference today in how our furry pals are treated!
We, the undersigned, ask you to kindly increase monitoring of federal and state animal welfare. The issue of practices such as fox and coyote penning, animal abuse, euthanasia and hunting matter to all of us. For the sake of the many animals who are sold as pets, hunted to extinction or used for testing and research, please enforce the Animal Welfare Act more intensively than before. Let your support reflect the principle that all creatures deserve respect, care and dignity. The very animals that we have as companions or helpers in the drive for progress, research or testing now need our attention.

In addition, we who have signed this respectfully request the monitoring of institutions that utilize animals for their businesses. Your support and action for this petition will change lives, both human and animal, that is assured. This petition requires action, both effective and immediate. We have caused many creatures harm and abuse in the past, let us make a difference in the present and in the future.

On behalf of the many people and organizations in existence, serving the cause of animal welfare, we are grateful and truly appreciative of your support and action with regard to this matter.

Thank you very much for your time.
