Stop Forcing Children to be With Sexual Offenders

We the undersigned called for the protection of children from convicted sexual offenders and ask for laws to be created and enforced to protect the children of Pa and all states from being placed in the unsupervised care of sexual predators by the courts. The children must be protected.

Pennsylvania has passed both Jessica's law and Megan's law, the citizens of Pennsylvania have spoken. They want children protected. and the legislators listened and passed the bills requiring the sex offender registry and strict punishment for sexual abuse of minor children. However, the passage of these bills into laws is failing the children and citizens of Pa and in reality has created a false illusion. The children are not being protected. Sexual predators of young children are not made all register.

We are calling for the citizens and legislators to demand that the laws are applied as the public feel they were meant, when a person is convicted of a sexual crime against a child, the criminal be punished and be made to register and forbidden custody of minor children.

We also ask that when a sexual predator is found guilty that he or she not be allowed to have unsupervised time with any minor child. The rights of the child and the potential risk of harm to the child must be paramount over the rights of the convicted sexual offender.

We also point out that when a sexual offender of children, a pedophile, has rights to his or her children, he or she has legal rights to be around other children.

A man convicted of sexual crimes against minors in Pa. moved to Virginia and we commend Virginia for making him register. However, even though the crimes happened in Pa. that state does not list him on their registry even though is now living in Pa. He also has unsupervised care of his 2 minor children and as such is entitled to attend all school functions and to go to all children's activities.

While we recognize his civil rights, we do feel that the Commonwealth of Pa. is doing a grave disservice to it's citizens and indeed all visitors to the state. Being a beautiful state which most consider a great place for families to visit, we are particularly concerned. There is a false illusion that kids are safe in Pa. We know that it is not possible for the state to protect children in every circumstance but for the state to allow a known sex offender to have unsupervised visitation of minor children and indeed to have a court rule that a good and non abusive parent is forced to send her children to a known pedophile is atrocious.

We call for Pa. to right their wrongs. We call for the citizens to phone their legislators and demand this practice end and for laws to be made that prevent children from being forced to be with sexual predators, unsupervised.

Virginia's Sex Registry had the following listed until the convicted child abuser moved back to Pa and requested he be removed from the Virginia registry.

When one sexually assaults a child, he or she must be prevented from recommitting such offenses to the best ability of the law and therefore must not have unsupervised visitation or custody of any child, not be allowed to go to children's schools or daycares,

We ask that all sex offenders of crimes in Pa. be made to register in Pa and that children be protected.

We know that you have passed Jessica's law as well as Megan's law, however, we know that not all child sexual offenders are registering and that not all are kept from children. We feel this is wrong and we also feel that by the passage of Jessica and Megan's laws, the citizens of Pa are misinformed and feel kids are protected. This is very dangerous

While we recognize the civil rights of the sexual predators, we remain firm that the rights of innocent children must take precedence and call upon you to do all to protect the children. While no legislation can protect all, creating laws which do not allow a judge to grant unsupervised visitation to minor children could help minimize the access to children.

Give the kids a chance and make children's rights a priority. Make Pa. a leader in protection for children.

this father, convicted sex offender not made to even register and he maintains visitation with 2 minor children.

In SPOTSYLVANIA -- judge who granted sole custody of a 9 year old girl to her father after a medical expert testified he believed the man physically and sexually abused the child

The horrible murder of Nyia Miangel Page, who was about to turn 2, found frozen to death at an abandoned playground (her father who was arrested for her murder and was previously charged with sexually abusing another child shortly before this baby's murder. These are just a few of the atrocities facing Pa children. Please stop the enabling of criminals. Please speak up for the children.
