I just recently became aware of the gasing policies in North Carolina and I nearly died. I absolutely could not believe that this was happening. I understand that there is an overpopulation of dogs and cats, but I can not understand why a more humane method cannot be implemented. I understand that there are other more serious and important issues in our country, but dogs and cats offer an unconditional love to humans that no one else can give. They deserve to die peacefully and quietly, not horribly. I am hundreds of miles away from North Carolina but I cry every Fri. for the animals that I know have died a horrible death. Please reconsider these methods, there are better ways and there is no reason why they cannot be put in place in your state. There are people who care. Don't let this continue another minute.

This treatment of animals is horrific. I wish I was in a better position to help these animals. Everyone who can help in any way should try to. helpsaveone.org and similar organizations do all they can to save these animals but they need more help. I have spent over 35 years rescuing/spaying or neutering/ and adopting animals to good homes. Killing animals with no homes will end if we make spay and neutering of domestic dogs and cats mandatory everywhere and create NO COST clinics for low income families. Gassing animals is the same horrible thing HITLER did in Germany ... it teaches young innocent minds that this is ok...and it is anything but ok. STOP GASSING NOW and FOREVER ! ! ! It's horrible that procedures like this have to take place because of the over population of unwanted puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, however the horror does not have to go beyond the extent of human compassion for these living creatures. Any living creature experiencing the feeling of "not being wanted" maybe all their life, should not have its life ended by litterally having its life sucked out of them. We as humans have evolved in so many ways, and it's time North Carolina realizes that there's other ways of figuring out answers to a sad problem.

I had someone close to me die do to CO2 and would not want another living being to have to experience this. How can we be so inhumane to the poor defensless creatures when it is the humans that are the problem?? We would rather let them die and suffer in this maner in order to save a few bucks!! I as a tax payer demand that this barbaric method be stopped immediatly. Would you or a loved on want to die this way?? Think about it good and hard!
