Mr. President

We, the undersigned, the People of this Great Nation, are hereby demanding our voices be heard and that a solution to the rising cost of fuel be made.

Coast to coast prices are on a steady increase. When the price of bread goes up it dos not affect anything in particular, but when fuel prices increase, it affects everything in its path. I am sure you have noticed retail prices on everything from food to electricity have significantly increased, all as a result of the increasing fuel prices. To those who have a good salary, such as yours, you tend not to notice. But to those Americans on fixed incomes, single parents, the elderly, etc. it has a devastating impact on their lives. Times are bad when a man has to decide to buy a gallon of gasoline just to go to work and back home or buy a can of milk to feed his child.

This is not the American way. Oil companies and those that have interests are recording record profits as their business is forcing some Americans to change their whole way of living, and the vision of the American Dream is at a loss.

We are expecting you, the Leader of the American People, to take charge and make a difference.

Thank You
Rick Edwards

Stop depending on foreign oil, and start looking at renewable energy, and higher fuel mileage standards. Give huge incentives to people to give up gas guzzlers in favour of ultra-high mileage cars, and ramp up development of renewable energy sources.

High fuel costs are not necessary! To our Washington leaders: we've had enough! Take actions necessary to reduce dependence on foreign oil by (1) drilling in our own territories and (2)eliminating the excessive influence by environmentalists.
