Stop Wal-Mart From Wasting Huge Amounts of Food That Could Help the Needy!!

Every single day, Wal-Mart stores across the nation throw tons of perfectly edible food into the dumpsters instead of donating it to local food pantries and/or soup kitchens.  Petition Wal-Mart to change this wasteful practice!!  In light of the current economy and rising food prices, more and more people will be going hungry and Wal-Mart, though they do help tremendously, could do so much more!

Wal-Mart is a huge corporation with millions of customers.  They will not listen unless we have thousands of signatures.  Please do everything you can to promote this petition...sign it and send it to every address you have, post it on your MySpace or FaceBook page...anything you can think of to help us reach the signature goal and get Wal-Mart to change their policy of throwing away food that could help many families, most with children!!  Thank you for your time and help!

We the undersigned, agree that Wal-Mart should change its corporate policy of throwing food that has reached its 'sell date' into the dumpster.  Wal-Mart does a great deal to support food pantries but a tremendous opportunity is being overlooked.  With the present economy and the ever rising cost of living, more and more people will go hungry.  The food that is being wasted at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores could mean a great deal to struggling families across the nation.  Thank you for your time and, hopefully, rapid effort to stop this senseless and wasteful practice.
