Prevent Water Pollution

Prevent Water Pollution

Target:
United States House of Representatives
Sponsored by:

70% of Earth's surface is made up of water.  Unfortunately, this resource is being depleted and becoming hazardous.  Pollution occurs when harmful substances are emitted directly into a body of water or a source delivers pollutants indirectly through environmental changes.  The materials being dumped into the oceans, lakes and other bodies of water negatively affect the surrounding animals, environment, people and plants.  Chemical Pollution kills aquatic organisms in the water and upsets the eco systems they create.   Large number of deaths can be attributed to oil spills.  Similarly, aquatic plants cannot survive when the sunlight is blocked by the massive amounts of litter in the water.  Lastly, humans are suffering due to pollution.  Many people are living without access to clean drinking water and therefore become deathly ill in many cases.  The lack of clean water exists throughout many parts of the world.  Please Help and Protect Our Water!

We the undersigned request that more action be taken by the government to prevent water pollution.  The hazardous water is affecting our people, animals, plants and environments.  The number of deaths that can be attributed to the unclean water is saddening.
The sources of water pollution according to a 2004 study comprised mainly sewage treatment plants (54%), manufacturing industries (38%), animal farms (5%) and agro-based industries (3%).  The chemicals spilled into the environment from the sewage treatment plants and manufacturing industries immediately kill fish and all life forms in the water.  This is also true for humans.  Unclean water can cause a number of diseases including Diarrhea, Intestinal worms, Trachoma, Schistosomiasis and Cholera.
Another major cause of the deaths of aquatic animals and plants is oil spills.  In 1989 the  Exxon Valdez spilled millions of gallons of oil in Alaska.  As a result of the spill 250,000 animals died along with 500,000 aquatic birds.  Almost 20 years later, the habitats are still suffering from the affects of the oil spill.
We urge the House of Representatives to work towards ending the problem of water pollution.  Strong laws preventing industries from dumping materials into the water need to be created.  Industries need to reduce the amount of chemicals they release into lakes, oceans and other bodies of water.  Also, it is important for the government to create programs to assist those most affected by the pollution.
One way to begin the process would be to better enforce the Clean Water Act created in 1972.  This enforces wastewater standards for industry and municipal sewage treatment plants. The Act also requires that EPA and local authorities issue water quality standards for surface water bodies.
Thank You for taking time to read this letter and I sincerely hope that you consider the actions we are requesting.

I think that the laws against water pollution should be more strictly enforced and they should be worldwide. Why is it necessary for industries and people to dump there garbage into the ocean or any other body of water? How come they can't dispose of their waste properly? The damage that is being done by water pollution is irreversible and devastating to many ecosystems. They don't realize the problems they are actually causing by polluting the Earth's water. You may think that one person disposing of a little bit of waste into the water is nothing, but if millions of people are doing it, it adds up.

It's imperative that the lakes, rivers, ravines, oceans, forests, wet-lands and all wildlife habitat, be cleaned and saved for the people & animals who use them and as heritage to the generations to come!! There's a little Green Job to give people.. Oh ya Green Jobs? Going Green? Going Gangrene is what it is.. It’s not just about putting on a green jacket and continuing to work and live like we have.. But it’s to bad it seems as though that’s the way it is.. While something small is turning a little green, there’s something else (somewhere else) turning even more tar-black and toxic filled.. It's to bad you won’t stop Drilling!!! It’s to bad you're not interested in Windmills or Water Wheels, putting them up all over would create Green Jobs all over as well as reduce colossally the Carbon Monoxide, Hydro Carbon, Oxides of Nitrogen, Aldeides, Pb Compounds, Sulfuric Dioxide and the rest of the stuff killing our planet, our animals, our global families and us... It's to bad you're not interested in saving the Animals of the world, because that would also create green jobs. It's to bad you're not interested in Cultivating Marijuana Trees because that would create Green Money. It’s to bad you’re not interested in Helping the Elderly; Diseased, DEVELOPMENTLLY DELAYED, MENTAL, HANDICAPS, Homeless and the Hungry with Socialized Green Programs, because that would create Green Jobs and Green Money, and It's just so to damn bad.. Going Green does not mean you put on a Green Jacket and continue doing what your doing. IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE OR WE’RE ALL FU!@#$%D!! The Governments will go on continuing to allow the destruction of families; The Poisoning of people through Radio Active & Toxic Foods; Diseases, Products, and toxic pollution particles in the Water to drink and air to ingest when we breath, UNTIL WE SCREAM LOUD ENOUGH FOR THEM TO STOP PISSING ON US ALL WITH THEIR TOXIC CHEMICAL ADDICTIONS!! (The perfect receipt for Corporate & Government Profit)… PLEASE NO MORE ALREADY - BUSH HAS DONE SO MUCH DAMAGE so; We Need Solar Powered Everything, if they’re not powered by Windmills.. Solar and Windmills and Non-Gasoline Cars.. No Nuclear! NO MORE NUCLEAR PLEASE. NO MORE Coal-Fired Power Plants. No More Stockpiles of Nuclear Weapons. No More of this PLEASE… No more War on Trees, No more War on Marijuana, or War Period.. No More Gluttonous Consumerism, NO MORE Asia, JAPAN, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Armenia, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Spain, Costa Rica, Korea & CHINA Trading because of the terrible total contempt for their people, environment and animals. If there’s any product trading from anywhere it should be with companies who are trying to help & contribute to our planet by setting an example and encouraging other businesses & companies to practice with policies that run a completely ecologically sustainable and socially responsible business & company.. No more Environmentally Hazard Products or Animal poisoning & breeding for food and Slaughtering. NO MORE LEGALIZING MURDER.. No More genocide, ethnocide, euthanize and false imprisonment, No more ripping families apart, AND NO More Babies to give birth to.. Time is running out and they’re setting us up for global disasters. No More Cutting Down Our Valuable Precious Trees for Paper, furniture, toys and more.. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH... Paper accounts for 40% of all municipal waste. Recycled paper means less trash, lower taxes & other disposal costs. The paper industry is the 3rd largest user of energy in the U.S. The U.S. uses 100 million tons of paper a year & use is increasing. Recycled paper uses 55% less water & helps preserve our forests. The paper industry is one of the largest water polluters in the world. Recycled paper reduces water pollution by 35%, reduces air pollution by 74%, and eliminates many toxic pollutants. NO MORE Multi-Rich Cigar-Smoking, CORPORATE EVIL IN OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICES! I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. I’m sickened and disgusted. Everyone go to work and demand from your bosses that they invest in 100% Recycled Paper, or don't do it and remain the same consumer and government zombie..
