The FDA needs to put the health of the American people before the profits of U.S. corporations. Aspartame has been linked to triggering brain tumors - stated by a former senior toxicologist with the FDA. The FDA has received 10,000 consumer complaints on this substance & the FDA has complied a list of 92 symptoms - including death. Most common symptoms include: headaches, memory loss, seizures, vision loss, coma, and cancer. It also appears to worsen or mimic the symptoms of such conditions as fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, ADD, diabetes, Alzheimer's, chronic fatigue, and depression. Aspartame is known to make people hungrier & fatter. Considering the epidemic of obesity in this country, we should be doing everything in our power to stop this! Other countries have banned this substance from entering their own countries, labeling this substance a carcinogen. Even New Mexico has taken steps to try to ban this deadly substance. Unfortunately, the FDA is influenced by big corporations - in this case, Searle, who manufactures this substance. We request that the FDA immediately remove aspartame from our food supply, including all manufactured foods, diet sodas, vitamins (including children's), toothpaste, etc.

The fact that we have let this inthe hands of so many poele and most importantly children (who have yet to develop) as well as targeted people who already have a health concern in the first place.. ex(suagr free..diabetics.. overweight..etc. is beyond sick! I am currently studying alternative medicine and am a wellness coach and kids yoga instructor and will do all i can to educate the people about the dangers of it. What has happened to our country that we let this kind of "silent killer" take over the market like this! I will be getting many grants for research when i graduate and I promise you I will fight this all the way and teach others how to protect themselves from it as well as the future generations to come! i believe in the people..and togetehr we will make thi sright..through education..hope..and perseverence...truth and morals will prevail and there is nothing honest or moralistic about this highly toxic ingredient!

Over a year ago I found out that I suffered with IBS, I decided to take an intolerance test at a health clinic and was told that Aspartame was one of the things that would be making it worse. Until then I wasn't really aware of this chemical, but as I began to study all of the ingredients in the food that I was eating, I soon noticed it in alot of products. MSG is another substance that people should be aware of, we all need to stick together and try and banish these chemicals in our food!

I got dizzy spells and nausea from eating Nutrasweet when it first become popular in the mid eighties. Although I was only a child, I knew that something wasn't right and I've avoided aspartame since. I've gotten the same symptoms on all of the (rare) occasions that I've accidentally ingested it. Something needs to be done about this poison!

What gives anyone the right to poison our children while they take their vitamins to become healthier and stronger. It's not much wonder that there's so much turmoil in the schools today with this crap in their system, making them more hyper and more violent! It's no wonder that they're growing up to become weirder and more violent these days with so much trash in their systems! Do YOU want children like this in YOUR neighborhood, reeking havoc in your neighborhood? I don't think so! Ther is more than a question mark over the safety of aspartame, it is a despicable abuse of our human rights that a poison is being sold to us, often hidden in foods, as a food or medicine product. I have friends who have had neurological health symptoms directly caused by aspartame and had been advised by their neuorologist to stop taking aspartame through diet fizzy drinks etc I have unwittingly poisoned my children with it even though I am aware that is harmfull and not some thing i would knowingly ingest or feed my children. If despite its detrimental health effects was still continued to be sold it would only be appropriate to have health warnings as do ciggarettes, and most definately not for any products made for children. Its absolute lunacy
